Steve Liesman brought up an interesting point last night on The 11th Hour. US during both the financial crisis and COVID extended swap lines to a number of countries. With Trump trying to remake the fed with his lackeys, the next crisis that comes around he can see Trump using swap lines as a bargaining chip to say take Greenland.

Trump is damned media savvy. Two weeks is the perfect amount of time for the media cycle to have moved on and all of us have forgotten about following up. That’s why it’s his go to.
