Hey, tax cuts cost nothing, as long as we say that!

“If you’re just extending current law, we’re not raising taxes or lowering taxes, that is a $4 trillion deficit. That’s ridiculous. We’re going to have to take the bold steps of saying to the American people that we are not going to let $4 trillion of tax hikes happen and that it’s not going to increase the deficit.”

Mr. Crapo, who said he had discussed the idea with Mr. Trump, added that Republicans could try to officially change budget rules so that extending the tax cuts is not shown to cost anything.

Doesn't count explosion of trickle down Viagra like stimulus

Neither party has a leg to stand on when it comes to fiscal responsibility. The last person who put actual effort into addressing spending, if I recall correctly, was Bill Clinton.

The Harris campaign flat-out lied about their intentions to balance out spending increases.

Neither side has done so in two decades, but one side purports to care (thus lying) about the deficit and balancing the budget.

Obama had his Grand Bargain which was a mix of tax increases and spending cuts pit forward by a bipartisan committee of retired politicians. It didn't get too far because Republican Congressmen couldn't give Obama a win.

Shhhh the truth is not allowed. Truth accountability is a myth when you are controlled by a red or blue party.

Then address why we've had over 70 years of a better economy under Democrats than Republicans. I notice that you seem to have absolutely no productive suggestions about this. I guess wishing a plague on both houses means you can be bereft of ideas. Haven't you found iconoclasm a dead end, yet?

The original point was political fiscal responsibility. No politician since Mr I did not have sexual relations has addressed it, Einstein.

I realize the thruth hurts the emotionally fragil like yourself.

The point is that all you offered was superficial complaints and not solutions and exhibited no understanding of the back and forth of the Dems having to repair the damage that the 'pubs cause before making any progress. You do remember that St. Reagan almost tripled the national debt, don't you? I know it's hard for the illiterate and unaware like you to realize how bad you look.

I couldnt care less about what you or anybody else thinks. Thats the difference between us, Einstein. So keep overthinking things that you have absolutely no control over while popping pills to cope. Congrats on your internet messageboard superiority. Your emotional stability depends upon it. Lmao

I take great exception to that. I'm not a pill popper. Lmao.

For someone who says they don’t care what other people think about them you sure tell people you don’t care what they think about you a lot.

No, the original point was not about that. It was about a GOP Senator thinking that cooking the books is an acceptable response.

Whatever you think of Dems' fiscal responsibility (and remember: decreased by a lot under Obama and Clinton), they aren't advocating for excluding categories of expenses from the official records because they are inconvenient.

This is an order of magnitude worse than anything we've seen in terms of US public finance in a long while. We will see if they actually follow through, but the replacement of data with propaganda is not a both-sides thing at all. It's very much a GOP thing.

I find this to be way unnecessary. You can be contrarian and even be an asshole and it doesn't bother me, but making smartass comments about people you don't know "popping pills to cope" is just beyond a line of reasonable conversation for me.

This particular poster is among our worst and if he were banned, I think absolutely nobody would miss him.

Superignore/ignore solves the need to ban.

I know some people don't like to ignore for theoretical reasons. But in practice, it makes the board a much more enjoyable place to visit.

I don't ignore and I am not a fan of the ban as long as the poster doesn't go full Stormfront...

I rely on the board MAGAs to keep me informed what is the latest in the Qanon/MAGA conspiracy fever swamp. They allow me to avoid Stormfront/Newsmax/8chan/ FauxNews to get my right wing fever swamp "news"
