HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Light cross l crowd this year. I had 60 full size candies and a bag of smaller ones, we still have 6 full sized bars and a handful of small ones. Last year we have our the bags of the small ones.
Me speak pretty one day (David Sedaris) J/K(Great NC writer by the way also Amy’s brother)

Handing out candy to kids between 5-7pm; going to local high school football afterward (rivalry game); then off to an adult Halloween party. Food is always scarey. Finger cookies that look like cutoff fingers; edible eyeballs; the ubiquitous jack o lantern vomiting guacamole; etc.
That oughta do me.
Charcuterie board from a party last week was really well done:

Took the kids around the neighborhood tonight, lots of trick or treaters but seemed to be a lot less houses handing out candy compared to years past .

At least here in Lawrence, Kansas, the Halloween trick-or-treating tradition has taken a hit. I specifically remember when I was 15, which was 25 years ago, I decided to go jogging in our neighborhood area to try and impress people. There were so many people out for Halloween. Like hundreds if not a thousand in the nearby neighborhoods.

I saw less than 25 kids out tonight while walking my dogs in the same neighborhoods.

Sad.

Yea
lots of big community events now... they are fun

I had 6 trick or treaters, all of them were young ladies, of the last group of 4, 2 of them needed a new treat bag, I gave both of them the blue ABC store bags that Virginia has for their customers, those bags may be the strongest bags made just short of those reusable grocery bags. I asked the 4 girls to grab 5 handfuls apiece and they did, but, there was still going to be some leftover candy so I asked them to grab another couple of handfuls . . some years we may get 40 to 50 visitors, this year it was 6. I did hear there was a big crowd at the elementary school last night for a trunk or treat event.
