This is the person that our country wanted to be our president and represent us on the world stage. You don't have to like it. You can be as disgusted as I am that we will no longer be an inspiration to countries yearning to emulate our democratic republic.

But don't pretend that if only doing this that or other would have preserved our shining city on a hill

What does that tell you about how bad over half of the country felt she was? Imagine if she had been running against haley. it would have been dukakis level bad.

No. They will gloat more. Never forget, maga is more motivated by inflicting pain on others than avoiding pain to themselves. Ttump’s closing message was defined by fire, brimstone, and promises to hurt people - it’s what maga wants. For a minimum of six months they will feverishly gloat every time a perceived liberal is hurt, and with every “dunk” ttump attempts (because his entire presidency will be defined by revenge and corruption).

Now, one to three years into the term when the US credit rating is dusted, trade wars lead to an acceleration of inflation, Putin is well into a full genocide of Ukrainian culture and has nukes aimed at Berlin, right wing terror groups go unchecked in American cities, measles is breaking out in the hundreds, volatility of the dollar quakes the economy, and ttump has loosed the national guard rifles on peaceful demonstrators, then they might slink away.

Also, maybe none of that happens, despite it all being based on trump’s actual words.
