Have you ever known a murderer?

In my time delivering pizza, I got beat up once, robbed once, had a gun pulled on me, had pizzas stolen from my car, and had a woman answer the door completely naked, just to name a few of the interesting things that happened.

When I worked at Taco bell, I was robbed at gun point twice.

I had a coworker at the pizza delivery who made the mistake of leaving his car running in the wrong apartment complex. He saw someone driving off with it and that was the last he saw of that car.
Wow. See, getting robbed once pretty much got me out of that game. They set me up to an empty apartment. I knocked, waited, realized nobody was coming. Came back to the car to 2 dudes with a gun waiting on me. One stood about ten feet from me pointing the gun, other one came up and demanded the cash. This was early 90s so everyone paid with cash or check and I had not been making my cash drops so I had a bunch of it. For those of you not familiar with this line of business, back in the day the store did not want you leaving with anything more than cash for change (so they didn't lose $100 while you got killed for having only $10 on you).

But anyway, I guess I was in a total state of shock and after I gave him the wallet he started looking through it and I was like, "Can I at least have my driver's license back?" And he gave it to me! So then, I get in the car and start driving off and they start firing at me! I'm like WTF why you firing at me now?? No cell phones so I proceed to drive 85 in a 35 trying to get pulled, but of course I can't. After that I was too nervous to drive nights so became the day driver. I'd pick up an occasional weekend night if I was really broke. Had a bullet hole in my hubcab so maybe they were just trying to flatten tire and slow me down from calling cops and not trying to kill me? Will never know and will never know if I'd be dead if I didn't have a wad of cash to give them.

But all that stuff you went through. Damn dude. No idea how you kept going. Would have eaten Ramen and donated plasma, or got a job at the bookstore.

That's insane. I drove pizza in college and got held up at gunpoint once. One of the other drivers at my store once made a delivery to an apartment with no doorknob. When he got in front of the door a gun barrel came out of the hole and they said "drop the pizza homes". He did, and left without incident. I was like damn, people commit armed robbery for a $15 pizza?
Didn’t ncsulol’s Lorenzo Charles rob a pizza delivery guy? Not armed robbery; but, 6’7” 235-245 is quite threatening.

Yea, I wouldn't let my kids do that either.

Of course my wife delivered pizzas also and has no stories like these. Most of my really wild ones are from Gastonia. When I delivered in Ga it wasn't as crazy.
My kids still do Door Dash occasionally, but I gotta think it is safer with the digital trail. At least I hope it is!

Friend I went to school with got arrested in high school for stabbing a dude 100+ times and killing him. Turns out the dude had been molesting my friend for years. He was convicted of the killing although it was for manslaughter and not murder.

About 2 months later I get a call from a lawyer asking me if I would be a character witness for this guy.
Seems as if he murdered his father. He took his chef’s knife and his filet knife and butchered his fathers corpse after stabbing him to death. He “fabricated” the body into the different cuts of meat.
I really would not be surprised if somehow knowledge of the future could be imparted upon me and I learned that at some point in the future, due to our exact same treatment of animals today, the general concensus regarding most people living today was similar to how I assume most people feel about your tale of the human corpse butcherer...

I signed up to deliver for Gumby's in the 80's. I was a small time drug dealer at the time so I didn't want or need the job but I never asked my parents for money so I figured I needed some excuse why not. I remember leaving my house to go to that first night on the job, my buddies were sitting there watching TV and getting high and giving me shit about "the job." I got there and they loaded me up with two large pizzas, soon as I left the parking lot I drove straight home and we all ate the pizza. I never went back, but we did order from Gumby's a lot after that. Good pizza...
