This is true if, by "many times" he means never.

This shit makes no sense. If a doctor is willing to accept $100 for a procedure, why the fuck would insurance pay $120? The whole economic purpose of health insurance, as it exists in this country (i.e. hybrid between insurance and care) is that health insurers are more effective negotiators. An unorganized crowd cannot bargain effectively.

I guess we're headed back to the days where GOP politicians talk about paying doctors with chickens and potatoes.

Senate Republicans Say Deal on ACA Extension Within Reach

Emerging framework would continue enhanced subsidies for two years

“…
The talks are picking up as the House is set to hold a vote on a three-year extension of enhanced ACA subsidies on Thursday, after four centrist Republicans crossed party lines last month to back the Democratic effort over the objections of House Speaker Mike Johnson (R., La.). An identical bill failed to advance in the Senate last month, but the Senate could take up the House-passed measure and amend it this time.

Senate negotiators will meet on Thursday with House members eager for a compromise. Rep. Mike Lawler (R., N.Y.) said that with various groups circling around a plan to narrow the subsidies and extend them for two years, “I think that’s ultimately where we can get.”

Other Republicans were cautious about the prospects for a deal. Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R., S.D.) said that there had been productive conversations between Republicans and Democrats but there remained sticking points, including the question of whether to add further restrictions on ACA plans’ coverage of abortion services. …”

1/8/26 ☀️ AM:

“… Trump’s comments sparked immediate outrage from anti-abortion rights groups, as well as pushback from Speaker Mike Johnson and other GOP leaders — effectively sapping any momentum Trump’s prodding may have ignited.

Behind the scenes, key Republicans are complaining that Trump, who’s been completely disconnected from the bipartisan Obamacare negotiations, is leaving them twisting in the wind.

… Adding to their frustration is the fact that Democrats are about to score a victory in the House today with the passage of House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries’ proposal to extend the Obamacare subsidies for three years.

The bipartisan Senate group believes it’s on the verge of a deal. But the Hyde language is now viewed more acutely as an insurmountable problem.

Republicans want new funding restrictions, while Democrats are refusing to back anything that goes beyond current law. They don’t agree on whether the law sufficiently applies Hyde as-is.

… If the Senate ACA group is able to resolve the Hyde standoff, they have the contours of a potential deal for the Obamacare extension sketched out.

The agreement would likely extend the subsidies for two years, cap eligibility at 700% of the federal poverty level and require a minimum premium payment. It would also extend open enrollment until March 1. This is in line with Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick’s (R-Pa.) bipartisan bill in the House.…”

“… One was a promise to House Freedom Caucus members to oppose a “clean” extension—meaning one with no changes—of the enhanced ACA health-insurance credits, according to people with knowledge of the agreement.

That issue is now front and center on Capitol Hill and dividing the Republican Party.“

Trump says he'll soon unveil framework to lower health care costs

The plan comes as lawmakers continue to negotiate on health care after Obamacare subsidies lapsed for millions of Americans at the start of the year.

Good chance he made this announcement yesterday to derail the Senate vote to extend ACA subsidies, not because he has an actual concept of a plan.

Just skimmed the article, but did St. Donald of Mar-a-Lago mention anything about "soon" being two weeks? Apparently, St. Donald's minions have done extensive research on the attention span of "the base." Seems the result of this research was "two weeks."
