Hegseth ordered hundreds of generals to meet on short notice in Virginia

“… Trump’s appearance at Marine Corps Base Quantico in Virginia not only overshadows Hegseth’s planned address but adds new security concerns to the massive and nearly unprecedented military event, which has required some generals and admirals to travel thousands of miles. Trump cast the discussion largely as a pep talk.

“It’s really just a very nice meeting talking about how well we’re doing militarily, talking about being in great shape, talking about a lot of good, positive things. It’s just a good message,” Trump said in an interview with NBC News.

“We have some great people coming in and it’s just an ‘esprit de corps.’ You know the expression ‘esprit de corps’? That’s all it’s about. We’re talking about what we’re doing, what they’re doing, and how we’re doing.”

… It is estimated that flying, lodging and transporting all the military leaders — some of whom will be traveling from the Middle East, Europe and the Indo-Pacific — will cost millions. The event has also raised security concerns about having all the top leadership in one place, particularly given that Tuesday is the end of the fiscal year, and if the government shuts down, it could leave key personnel stranded from their units.…”

How nice, an authoritarian pep rally. Haven't we seen this before? ...

If Trump says that is all it is about, I think the odds are that that is a lie.

We will see.

Welcome to Hegseth’s TED Talk, at a cost of millions in travel costs to the taxpayer and lost time of generals around the world.

(He actually says F A F O and then suggests that the generals’ staff can explain to them what that means if they don’t know)

“Would you want him [your own kid] serving in a unit … where standards were lowered so certain types of people can get in? … The answer’s not just no, it’s hell no”

Get rid of losers like Stormin’ Norman Schwarzkopf, I guess?

But it sounds like using physical training requirements to eliminate high ranking generals and colonels.

If you don’t LOOK the part, you’re out.

Why does it matter if the generals are in shape? They’re not relied upon for their physical attributes. Should we apply the same standards to our commander-in-chief?

Generals gather in their masses
just like witches at black masses
evil minds that plot destruction
....

or perhaps some kind of trump purity test.
Is that what's behind the trump head lapel pin? Is it the trump purity pin, showing that you have meet the highest standards of ass kissing and sucking up?

Is the “no long hair or beards” a standard for enlisted personnel as well or just flag officers?

Open season for harassers, apparently.

“… forgivable, earnest or minor infractions to not be encumbered by those infractions in perpetuity … otherwise we only try not to make mistakes and that’s not the business we’re in. We need risk-takers and aggressive leaders and a culture that supports you.”

He doesn’t specify what he will deem a forgivable or earnest or minor mistake to be stricken from records. But following his bit about reforming the OIG process, it is implied that sexual harassment or on the basis or race, religion (he has repeatedly made reference to serving God and country, pointed to the sky for a higher purpose, etc.), nationality, whatever will be cleaned up to make way for promotions of people previously held back by such matters on their record, while targeting anyone who makes more than one harassment claim ever.

My guess would be alcohol and maybe drug
-related behavioral offenses and offenses of aggression might also be considered to be removed since we need aggressive war—fighting killing machine risk takers.
