Hegseth ordered hundreds of generals to meet on short notice in Virginia

šŸ‘†That sounds like more firings of generals coming, at least women and minorities…

My niece was recently a ā€œfirstā€ for her position on a Navy nuclear submarine.
Her father (my brother) is extremely proud of her (as he should be) and also extremely far-right.
I’ve often wondered what his reaction would be if his daughter was ever made out to be a DEI hire.

ā€œBut I suspect, I know the overwhelming majority of you feel the opposite. These words make your hearts full. You love the War Department because you love what you do, the profession of arms. You are hereby liberated to be an apolitical, hard-charging, non-nonsense, constitutional leader that you joined the military to be. We need you locked in on the M. Not the D the E or the I, not the DEI or the D I E of DIME, by that I mean the M - Military of the instruments of national power. ā€¦ā€

"No more fat generals and admirals walking around the Pentagon." see, e.g. Lloyd Austin wearing a mask and face shield.

ā€œā€¦ No more politically correct and overbearing rules of engagement. Just common sense, maximum lethality and authority for war fighters. That’s all I ever wanted as a platoon leader. ā€œ

How does this translate to deployment in American cities?

ā€œā€¦ forgivable, earnest or minor infractions to not be encumbered by those infractions in perpetuity … otherwise we only try not to make mistakes and that’s not the business we’re in. We need risk-takers and aggressive leaders and a culture that supports you.ā€

He doesn’t specify what he will deem a forgivable or earnest or minor mistake to be stricken from records. But following his bit about reforming the OIG process, it is implied that sexual harassment or on the basis or race, religion (he has repeatedly made reference to serving God and country, pointed to the sky for a higher purpose, etc.), nationality, whatever will be cleaned up to make way for promotions of people previously held back by such matters on their record, while targeting anyone who makes more than one harassment claim ever.

My guess would be alcohol and maybe drug
-related behavioral offenses and offenses of aggression might also be considered to be removed since we need aggressive war—fighting killing machine risk takers.

So weird that a serial philanderer with a drinking problem would want to not have people's past mistakes affect their future prospects

ā€œā€¦ when we don’t think they’re OUR warrriors, you know what happens? We say you’re fired. Get out. We had some real bad ones last time. You know I rebuilt the military, the entire military but I had a couple but I had unbelievable people to do that you have to but I had unbelievable group of people I t here but I also had some bad ones at the top like Milley and Mattis and that uh [he is saying Yes-per, not Esper] I called him too always too late Yesper. He was horrible. So I learned because I was just in there and I put these people in and they were recommended by RINOs and others and they’re not good but what we have now is the best but even despite that I rebuilt the military in my first term. We had a great first term. We had the greatest economy ever ā€¦ā€
