Yeah. Probably. His resume looks very weak compared to other Secretaries of Defense.

I won't say definitely incompetent yet. He did some things that were going to be unpopular before the war like cutting some programs and focused on modernizing some systems like drones and AI. Those things probably had to be done even though kicking the can down the road and letting the beauracracy get bigger is the easier course for a politician.

The real question will be his leadership during this war. Jury is still out, but his boss is going to make it very hard for even a genuis to pull it off.

I think you're likely correct. He fired two white generals as well at about the same time. But it seems odd you would bring up race as a reason why he was or wasn't fired. And why would you ask me about it? I don't have any inside knowledge. Just a weird post.

He also promoted on black woman to a three star. It seems like a racist and/or woman hater would be an all or nothing kind of guy.

Baptist News is from the post above. Doesn’t change that most of the people fired have been African American and/or women. Promoting one person isn’t an argument that he’s not a racist and or a misogynist.

How many would he need to promote to prove to you that he is not a racist or misogynist? Is there a number or have you already made up your mind based on the article from baptistnews?

Quite a bit better source, but its really the same question. I'm looking at the wikipedia and I'm seeing at least a dozen three star and four stars including some who were promoted or reaffirmed under Hegseth that are black and/or women. Would a racist or misogynist really do that?

I think the racist accusations are really thin. The competence question is still up in the air.
