Anyone happen to be from Old Fort? I have a friend who's mom lives there and they can't get in touch with her.

I don't want to "Like" your photos, but thank you for posting them.Hey y'all. Been trying to check in. Power is out for most of the city. Water is boil advisory, where it is actually running. As y'all probably know, I 26 to Hendersonville is the only route in or out of town.
Here's some pictures of the river I took:
That was yesterday morning.
Then yesterday evening:
Then today at noon:
So it looks like the flood waters are receding. But damn.
Same here. I've been perplexed and worried by how little news has come out of Asheville.I don't want to "Like" your photos, but thank you for posting them.
We have almost no cell service, no power in most of the city, and now the water is going out. So I don't know how much will get out. I'm fortunate that my office still has power and Wi-Fi I can use.Same here. I've been perplexed and worried by how little news has come out of Asheville.
Flying home to Hickory from South Texas right now. I talked to my wife this AM, and one of our big white oaks fell across the street. I have not been able to get in touch with her since. I did talk to a neighbor who said we have two other trees down. I'm pretty sure the wife's internet and Vz cell service are out. This sucks, sucks, sucks. Can't get home fast enough!
Hey @8992Tiger and @tallheel95 , got an update on your respective situations?
Two completely different situations.Just for a moment, think of the damage wreaked by the hurricane and then think of Gaza. Imagine what people in Gaza have been going through.
OKJust for a moment, think of the damage wreaked by the hurricane and then think of Gaza. Imagine what people in Gaza have been going through.
For sure. I'm just saying, as bad as it seems in WNC now, the suffering in Gaza dwarfs it. It puts things into perspective, at least for me.Two completely different situations.
Also think of what people with lung cancer are going through. People in WNC have nothing to complain about, right?Just for a moment, think of the damage wreaked by the hurricane and then think of Gaza. Imagine what people in Gaza have been going through.
Apples to oranges and irrelevant in the context of the devastation in WNCFor sure. I'm just saying, as bad as it seems in WNC now, the suffering in Gaza dwarfs it. It puts things into perspective, at least for me.
From my family to yours, I'm glad I have the cell service needed to tell you to shut the fuck up.For sure. I'm just saying, as bad as it seems in WNC now, the suffering in Gaza dwarfs it. It puts things into perspective, at least for me.
GFYFrom my family to yours, I'm glad I have the cell service needed to tell you to shut the fuck up.
Mother nature has taken care of that, but I appreciate your concern.
Insulting disaster victims because you were rightly called out for your tone deaf trivialization of their suffering. Big yikes.
Hey, you can get fucked too. I neither appreciate nor desire your input here, and honestly you taking my part makes me think I'm in the wrong.Insulting disaster victims because you were rightly called out for your tone deaf trivialization of their suffering. Big yikes.
Is that supposed to hurt my feelings or something? Don’t worry, you’ve been in the wrong plenty. Mindlessly lashing out at people for no reason is just the latest instance of it.Hey, you can get fucked too.
