Anyone happen to be from Old Fort? I have a friend who's mom lives there and they can't get in touch with her.

I did talk to a neighbor who said we have two other trees down. I'm pretty sure the wife's internet and Vz cell service are out. This sucks, sucks, sucks. Can't get home fast enough!

Hey @8992Tiger and @tallheel95 , got an update on your respective situations?
 
My brother sent me a picture of the Flowering Bridge at Lake Lure. The Chimney Rock half of the bridge is gone. The Lake Lure half is still standing, but everything that was in it has been swept away.

Also think of what people with lung cancer are going through. People in WNC have nothing to complain about, right?
 
Heard from my father, he and my sister are ok. But he said that you just can’t imagine the devastation. Historic levels. They likely won’t have power for weeks. Travel is severely limited. And unfortunately the death toll will climb as they are eventually able reach more homes and cars that were directly impacted by the floods/landslides. 😢

Is that supposed to hurt my feelings or something? Don’t worry, you’ve been in the wrong plenty. Mindlessly lashing out at people for no reason is just the latest instance of it.
