Home appliances

I lost 2 lower front teeth about 4 years ago after battling to keep them forever. My gums below those 2 receeded because I apparently needed surgery my whole life to stop my lower lip from pulling it...eventually the teeth had to go. I went with a 2 tooth partial that literally nobody can tell I have. I was self.conscious about it for about a month. Never think about it now and it is a perfect match for my real teeth. The difference in cost between that and implants was a car...a pretty nice car.
A good partial is a great option for that setup.

One of the best things my dad ever did was to get dentures.

His teeth had worn down to little nubs and he was so self conscious that he would not smile and tried to not talk.

After he got the dentures he was back and better than ever. It was amazing how much of a different it made.

And if you can afford (and your bone can support) implant-supported dentures, it's even better.

Aren't you a dentist?

I already have two partials in my mouth. It does't work in my current situation because they extracted the two back teeth on the lower right (#30 & #31) so there would be nothing to anchor the bridge in the back. So I am getting an implant for tooth 30 and leaving the gap at 31 empty. It is all the way in the right rear so there is no cosmetic issue. The upper molars on that side are a 3-tooth partial so missing the back molar isn't going to cause any consequential issues for the tooth above it.

I have the exact same setup in my mouth. It works great.

I'm a dentist, but I specialize in pediatric dentistry.
