That ESPN writeup for State is utterly hilarious. Talk about grading on a curve: They got Darrion Williams and as for the rest of the roster:
While Wade brought along a couple of players with him from McNeese, he also focused on power-conference experience with portal additions Tre Holloman (Michigan State), Terrance Arceneaux (Houston), Jerry Deng (Florida State) and Ven-Allen Lubin (North Carolina) all having played high-major basketball.
So, having played high major basketball is now the criteria for making the top 25? Four guys who have played, no matter how good? And these guys are not good. Oh, he brought some guys from McNeese? You mean like Quadrir, the guy who shot 15% from 3 last year?
That predicted starting lineup has NO shooting. The 3pt percentages for the guys who actually made a 3 pointer last year are: 15%, 32%, 33%, 34%.
Anyway, my guess is this is the ratings-generating outrage machine of the early season. Put State in front of UNC and go viral.
