Man, you've got to step up your meme game. The same one is getting kind of

You need to confer with nycfan. She's really good with memes. Her mastery of the form is amazing. Maybe she can work you into her already too busy schedule. All she can so is "yes", "no" or "hell no". It's difficult to conjure up a scenario where she might say "hell no" but I suppose anything is possible. She does possess a wealth of kindness, patience and understanding. Yeah, shoot her a message. Maybe she can help.

You're welcome.

And sorry in advance, nycfan.

If Democrats don't win big in 2026 and 2028, it's over. There won't be a chance for change in 2032. There likely won't even be an election.

P.S. - Chuck Todd is a bosidesing idiot.
I referred to him as a soft GQPer lapdog... and he was sorta a bosider but he never challenged the GQPer outright bullshit lies that were the GQP talking points. Todd sucked.

When Russert left to meet his great reward, NBC should have named Dr. Rachel Maddow as his successor, and yes, I know that GQPers would be reluctant appear and face her questioning and some country club republican viewers would tune out and get an earlier tee time and there would be a dip in some ad revenue. As the great journalist Linda Ellerbee used to sign off..."and so it goes". I would just add "and here we are "

How long will it take to rebuild America into the country it once was? My children will live their lives in a diminished version of what we once were. Will America get back to the imperfect but still great country we once were in time for them to enjoy it?

Decades. Unfortunately this is all our generation and the generation to follow will know. (I’m 44)

God, I miss Linda Ellerbee. That show she had with Ray Gandoff in the 1980s, "Our World", has to be one of my all-time favorites.

I have a daughter 49yo and a daughter 40yo so I share your concern and beyond having two teenage grandchildren.

On this board we tend to blame MAGAs for where we find ourselves, but as Michael Jackson sang, I'm looking at the man in the mirror when it comes to how well intentioned albeit naive progressives set the stage for where we are now.

If not for Florida Nader voters and elderly Jewish voters who were confused by the butterfly ballot and voted for Pat Buchanan thinking they had voted for Gore, we would have elected a president who understood the danger of climate change and would not have ignored the intelligence that warned us of terrorist plans to attack us on 911 leading to the disastrous war in Iraq

If not for naive liberals and disaffected Bernie bros who claimed Clinton was no different than Trump had voted for Clinton instead of Jill Stein or sat home and did not vote , we would not have had Trump 1.0 and we would not have a SCOTUS majority that is tacitly supporting the establishment of an autocratic "government"

If not for young voters turning out in smaller numbers for Harris than Biden in 2020 and young men voting well over 50% for Trump, including black and Hispanic young voters, we would not have Trump 2.0

I am more than willing to accept any criticism that I be branded a polemicist with this argument, but I welcome any counterfactual evidence that argues otherwise.

It took years to recover economically from COVID, and we are probably not there yet. How long will it take to recover from the economic damage of the trump years? The tax policy, the debt, the job losses, the lack of business vitality, the diminished economic growth caused by tariffs?

How long until the bottom 50% can get back to level?

How long until we regain our soft power and influence around the world?

How long until other countries trust our intelligence services again?

How long until we can trust SCOTUS?

How long until we can trust the federal government's data?

How long will it take to reverse the loss of intitutional knowledge, expertise, and the brain drain caused by DOGE, destroying our scientific and medical agencies, and the war against our great universities?

How long until we can trust ICE?

How long until we can trust our friends and neighbors again?

How long until empathy and compassion are looked upon favorably?

The damage of trump may be irreparable.
You forgot how long before we can begin a plan to help prepare for and minimize global climate change.
It's an ugly list, but I think some of these things in your list can bounce back more quickly than others.
