Bullshit on assimilation. White culture co-opted these other cultures and morphed to accommodate them.Agree with you on the merit based not a part of historical immigration. We have evolved to a point where I think that needs to be a part of immigration going forward. As well, unchecked immigration hasn't been a historical part of our system either.
You are wrong on Irish and Italians and blacks not assimilating. Assimilation is what makes the melting pot work. Are you good with no assimilation?
What’s the basis for the 47% number?Doubt the number would be in the 47% range of criminals that are currently being detained and deported by ICE.
So you see no need at all for assimilation? Just pockets of different ethnicities / races / nationalities all living in their own groups?Bullshit on assimilation. White culture co-opted these other cultures and morphed to accommodate them.
And we’ve evolved where it should be merit based? Why? You are admitting we are abandoning our principles then. But apparently you are ok with that. Why can’t we evolve on gender then? Why is it ok to only evolve on the things you approve of?
Assimilation should mean following our laws. Beyond that, what obligation for assimilation does anyone who is a law abiding citizen have? Are you saying that people who come here with different religious customs, different lifestyle practices, etc. should not be allowed to do those things? So you see no need at all for assimilation? Just pockets of different ethnicities / races / nationalities all living in their own groups?
It comes from DHS. Kristi Noem was asked a week ago how many of the people detained were criminals, and she said all of them. At that point, the interviewer told her she was wrong and that her own department had reported 47%.What’s the basis for the 47% number?
Where does it come from? Homeland Security? ICE? Customs and Border Patrol? Noem? Miller? Vance? Trump?
They aren’t going to respond. I think that’s an awesome post, but just don’t want you to expect them to respond. They don’t have a response.I hear Trump voters, including those that don’t like him personally, say they had to vote for him because his policies they support. So here are some of his policies I guess you support. Please tell me why you support these policies.
Poorly trained agents detaining people based on the color of their skin; poorly trained agents being able to burst in people’s homes without warrants ; tariffs that hurt average Americans; bailing out Argentina; abandoning science in DHS; employing Nazi based propaganda; undermining NATO; employing anti-Semitic globalist language; destroying the ACA and thus the healthcare for millions with no replacement plan; arbitrary retribution against individuals and states who criticize or investigated Trump; pardoning January 6 offenders and rewriting them as patriots; erasing the suffering African Americans suffered during slavery and Jim Crow (this happened at national parks and museums); all of these are core policies of Trump. So you all support these but just don’t like how Trump acts?
Please defend these policies. Again these are core policies for this administration, not just things based on Trump’s character.
Why do you limit American culture? Why is homogeneity the ideal? It’s not the ideal. It has never been the ideal in America. So you see no need at all for assimilation? Just pockets of different ethnicities / races / nationalities all living in their own groups?
This.Bullshit on assimilation. White culture co-opted these other cultures and morphed to accommodate them.
Exactly. It's as much blending as assimilation. I'd starve to death without Hispanic, Asian and Italian food. A man can only stand so much white bread.This.
Mexican restaurants exist and white people eat in them. Who assimilated?
Brought down energy prices?Comparing Trump to Caligula and late stage Tiberius. I realize he was trying to emphasize that Trump often acts rudely and impulsively but that’s a bit much.
Stating that Trump is not addressing the affordability issue. Fighting inflation is hard. He’s brought down energy costs and interest rates are falling. The deficit is much lower due to the substantial sums being raised by tariffs. He’s recently floated new proposals of capping credit card interest rates for one year, limiting residential home purchases by private equity and allowing penalty free usage of 401K funds for first home purchases.
We are supposed to evolve on our views regarding immigration but they do not have to evolve on their views of gender, DEI, healthcare, the second amendment, etc. We are only supposed to evolve to accommodate their views. They aren’t going to respond. I think that’s an awesome post, but just don’t want you to expect them to respond. They don’t have a response.
We are also apparently not allowed to ask them in good faith why certain things are not a political red line for them without them accusing us of being emotional or them telling us that they can’t have the conversation with us!We are supposed to evolve on our views regarding immigration but they do not have to evolve on their views of gender, DEI, healthcare, the second amendment, etc. We are only supposed to evolve to accommodate their views.
And when we criticize their policies it’s because we are not objective. We are also apparently not allowed to ask them in good faith why certain things are not a political red line for them without them accusing us of being emotional or them telling us that they can’t have the conversation with us!
And because we have a derangement syndrome! And when we criticize their policies it’s because we are not objective.
Exactly. We are the ones with a derangement syndrome yet they support someone they admit is not a good person. And because we have a derangement syndrome!
