Wow. I'm a bit surprised he wants to jump back into coaching.
Whatever the case may be it was a trash post.Sometimes the truth hurts. He gave his best but it wasn't good enough for this program.
Lol I've been very clear my stance on HD as a coach...this is the right move for UNC.True colors shining through.
AMEN.Man. I know this had to happen. And I advocated for it to happen after VCU. But I don't feel any joy or happiness at all. Only relief that a hard decision was finally made that will allow the program to move forward, and sadness that it ended this way for one of our all-time beloved Tar Heels. Sucks for such a nice guy to lose his dream job so publicly like this.
No Golden on the list, and Oats is in the others receiving votes category. Good.![]()

1 more made FT in regulationSo did VCU end Hubert? If the Heels win that game is he back?
Would winning that game and getting blasted by the Illini done it?
Fedora, Mack 2 and Roy were all decent, logical hires that happened pretty painlessly. Fedora and Mack 2 ended poorly, but most coach hires do. Overall, those were not terrible hires (although I understand why one might criticize Fedora and especially Mack 2).I should rephrase. I hope this ends up with a better outcome than almost any UNC coaching search at this century, save perhaps for Butch Davis.
True, your true colors have been on full display for awhile.Lol I've been very clear my stance on HD as a coach...this is the right move for UNC.
It’s more than the CHD era now at a finality. And more even than Dean or Roy.I am sad to hear that the CHD era is now at a finality, wishing him the very best going forward.
Have some humility and class. Or did you never learn a single lesson from Dean or Roy.Sometimes the truth hurts. He gave his best but it wasn't good enough for this program.
I’m sure he’s feeling somewhat heartbroken right now. He doesn’t want to lose some of these experiences. But I would be pretty surprised to actually see him be a head coach again.Wow. I'm a bit surprised he wants to jump back into coaching.
From what we've seen he doesn't appear to have that in him.Have some humility and class. Or did you never learn a single lesson from Dean or Roy.
One of those may not exist.Hate that it didn't work out for Hubert. I was hoping it would since he is part of the Carolina family and a great person. I admit I was never sold on him being a good enough coach for UNC from the beginning. I hoped it would get better, though. Now I hope they can get a coach that can give Carolina what it needs to be a consistent contender for championships.
There are a few out there. One of those may not exist.
The Carolina Way, everyone!
Yep...HD was below the standards of UNC basketball...hopefully the next coach can live up to it.True, your true colors have been on full display for awhile.
