that is the reasoning that gave us belichick. the NIL/portal college game isn't the pros, it's its own (worse) beast and i want somebody who's already familiar with it.

The difference is that Stevens has put together a championship roster and is only 49. Belichick relied on Lombardi, which has been disastrous.

I seriously doubt Stevens would remotely consider leaving his plum gig to return to college coaching. But if he did, I also really doubt that he would be inclined to run the same system he did at Butler 15 years ago.
