Hunter Biden Interview

I remain livid about Biden’s pardon of Hunter, mainly because it was a gross abuse of what should be a limited executive power, but also because Hunter could benefit from some time behind bars. He may be clean now but he’s still an asshole.

I was happy when Joe pardoned Hunter. If for no other reason than it pissed off the right. Fuck 'em.

Hunter's pardon is a mouse fart compared to the pardoning of ALL of the J6 assholes/violent treasonous insurrectionists ... and paying off Assly Babbitt's family ... and imprisoning and torturing legal residents and citizens of this country ... and extorting universities and media companies ... and worsening schools ... and denying science ... and knee-capping health care ... and declaring open season on minorities and the LGBTQ+ community ... and making the United States, and its people, a laughing stock to the world ... and firing hard-working and productive federal workers ... and closing businesses ... and shoving down our throats innumerable sins, outrages and shit IN OUR NAME.

Priorities, lawtig. There are plenty of things to be more "livid" about than Hunter or his laptop.

I agree with all of that. But this thread is about Hunter, and he shouldn’t have been pardoned. It pales in comparison to what Trump has done and will do, but it was still wrong.

Nobody outside MAGA Nation regards Hunter Biden as anything other than a ne'er do well with no political clout or future whatsoever. Yet I'm sure that many Fox viewers and Trumpers believe that Hunter will be one of the leading Democratic candidates for POTUS in 2028 and that he is a major player in Democratic circles.
Nepotism, like incest is relative. They think of it as family values.

I only heard parts of the interview and it may be because I had very low expectations, but I was slightly impressed.

It may be wrong in a righteous world but that's not the world we're living in now. Based on Trump & his goons' actions over the last six months, the rationale for the pardon has been borne out. Simply put, Hunter Biden likely would not have survived his term of incarceration under the Trump Regime. He would have been tortured daily and possibly wound up getting the Epstein treatment.

Hell, I don't even think he's "safe" now. You think this lawless administration believes in such quaint concepts as double jeopardy and the sanctity of a Joe Biden pardon? They've even spoken out loud about jailing Obama. I know the thread is about Hunter Biden, but for the love of Pete, the house is on fire and we're worrying about recovering some lost trinket from a long-ago vacation.

I supported Hunter's pardon in the hopes that I'd never have to hear about or from that jackwagon ever again. Unfortunately, he seems inclined to inflict his miserable ass on the democratic party the same way's he's inflicted himself on his own family over the years.

Yep...I can agree with this even though I think the pardon was very wrong.

I respectfully disagree for two reasons :

First, given the circumstances of the original reasonable plea deal that was nixed because...???

Second, I'm beginning to become sick and tired of Dems playing by the rules when GQPers thumb their nose at those rules

Now I've been day drinking since 7am so when I sober up, I may well pay attention and endorse your concern about abuse of executive power

I get all of that and my views on pardons in general are well known, so I'll back out of this discussion here.

With respect to the subject of the OP, I just wish all the Bidens would disappear. I know Trump will keep talking about them regardless, but one would think Hunter at least could keep his damn mouth shut. Lord knows he's caused enough problems already.
