Hurricane Melissa | Jamaica experiences a 'potentially unimaginable impact'

I wish I had faith the US will come to their aid once the storm passes.
Well, the Democrats shut down the government so there is no money or personnel available to help out a poor storm-ravaged country. President Trump is very empathic to the situation and would like nothing better than sending massive amounts of aid. Alas, Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries are holding the government hostage so they can give health care to illegal immigrants, which forces President Trump to withhold much needed aid.

This is true in areas directly impacted by the eyewall. Because the storm is so compact, however, other parts of Jamaica such as Kingston will barely get any rain and will have some light gusts. That is this storm’s saving grace.
You have a different definition of "barely any rain" than I do. On top of that, flooding caused by all the rain the mountains are getting is going to prolong the period of potential danger. The Blue Mountain range is only a few miles outside the city.

Looks like Sandals taking a direct hit.
I haven't seen the map where it came on shore, but I believe you are referencing the Sandals my wife and I honeymooned at, which at the time was called Sandals Whitehouse. Its a beautiful property. Wishing a fast recovery to that wonderful country.

Wife and I got married/honeymooned at Whitehouse. I’m very saddened by this.
