I canvassed for Dems today. Why only target Registered Dem and Registered Unaffiliated but no Repub or unreg?

I personally wouldn't second guess the campaigns. They've been doing this a long time and there are people who have studied this as a science in a way you or I haven't. There are multiple phases, and if you door knock long enough you'll see the nature of the lists you are working will change over time based on what the latest data shows to be an optimal strategy.

With that being said, if you want to volunteer to be a part of any given campaign the next go round. They would LOVE to have you and if you have any data aptitude whatsoever, they slap you into votebuilder (the list building software) so fast you're head will spin. I would encourage that sort of volunteering as a next step if that's where your interest lies.
 
Probably a good move for your safety as well. Lots of unhinged Uber 2nd Ammendment types that shoot through the door first, and are asked questions later, by the Popo.
 
I chatted with one of the folks at the HQ. She said that there could be Registered Repubs on the list "if they've previously said they're supportive or we have strong reason to believe they are".

Also said that prior to voting periods there are canvassing operations that focus on persuasive conversations but we didn't talk about who the targets were at that point (like not-registered folks or non-dems).

The lady that came to our house was looking for an Unaffiliated at the house But she told us we had been identified as a Democrat house-oh and she was correct lol
