My most sincere hope is that every human who works with and for ICE suffers unimaginable shame and all the worst karma that life has to offer for the remainder of their lives.

$100k...just pulled that number out of thin air.

This is just asinine.
So I presume if you are a hospital recruiting a Doctor-you budget this in recruitment ?
Or is that a different program?

Some doctors use the H1 visa path.

The unintended consequences of this will be wild.
I could see companies moving their research labs to Canada, Europe, Mexico or other places instead of paying out $100k for each employee per year.
Startups will get fucked.

Def will impact the outsourcers - will be interesting to see if the others bringing in workers with advanced degrees will pay.

I'm guessing that Trump turned his attention to this after the Hyundai debacle. He wanted the South Koreans to train Americans, which was of course impossible. So as he usually does, he addresses a lack of competitiveness with exclusion. Keep the better foreign goods out. Keep the better foreign workers out (they are better because otherwise they wouldn't be hired).

This would be an absolute catastrophe for everyone. I wonder if he's going to be talked out of it. I foresee bad things happening in the stock market.

FYI it's an ANNUAL fee per worker.

President Donald Trump on Friday signed a proclamation that will require a $100,000 annual visa fee for highly-skilled foreign workers and rolled out a $1 million “gold card” visa as a pathway to U.S. citizenship for wealthy individuals, moves that face near-certain legal challenges amid widespread criticism he is sidestepping Congress.

Yes, it is illegal to block a roadway in Illinois, even when you're really, really mad.

In this situation, this is exactly what protestors want.
And exactly the type of thing the Trump admin wants — any pretext to send in the National Guard. This particular clip mostly worries me that something somewhere is really going to pop with protester/Fed violence and I worry what happens next.
