But don’t kid yourselves. MAGA adores the Cencot strategy — it is exactly the kind of punitive authoritarianism they voted for and want to see expanded to include American citizens.

It's what they want prisons on American soil to look like, too.

It’s not like we have much to brag about in our prison system as it is.
100%. But, at least for now, (a) prisoners in the US have the right to consult a lawyer, and (b) most US prisoners leave before they're dead. That's not the case at Cencot, and it's something MAGA would love to change.

True

First Senator Booker and now Senator Van Hollen driving a righteous narrative...

It's now time for other Dems in Congress to join Booker and Van Hollen and take action instead of merely expressing concern a la Susan Collins ( talking about you Chuck and Hakeem )

lmao, the president of el salvador essentially being a maga twitter troll is pretty pathetic.

taunting senators and posting laughable photoshops. what a dickhead.

I'm going to say something that will likely not be popular here, and I say it fully recognizing I'm lowering the bar. I'm more deeply moved by an unimpeachable renunciation of Trumpism by an arch-conservative like Wilkinson than I am by a liberal. If that opinion had been written by someone like Michelle Childs, I would still have loved it, but it wouldn't have impacted me the same way. So I guess that's a challenge to the callatoroys and HeelYeahs who have conveniently disappeared recently. This board doesn't really matter, but it would still be nice to know you see what's happening and you're willing to fight it, and that the entirety of Republicanism hasn't been coopted by Russian trolls like Silence Dogood.

Democrats are fools. This isn’t a winning hand.
Oh?

President Donald Trump's net approval on handling immigration has fallen drastically in the space of a few weeks, according to polls.

An April Echelon Insights survey of 1,014 likely voters found that 54 percent approve of Trump's actions on immigration, with 44 percent disapproving, giving the president a net score of plus 10 points.

A previous Echelon Insights poll of 1,007 likely voters, conducted March 10-13, found that Trump had a net approval score of plus 18 points (57 percent approve to 39 percent disapprove).

The April survey was conducted April 10-14, and the results have a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points, as do the March results.

I don’t believe polls. Democrats rushing to El Salvador to be seen with a guy accused of being a wife abuser and gang member and in the country illegally isn’t it. Just common sense…..

The ads will write themselves.

That's actually helpful. Thank you for illustrating what the uninformed and gullible will find persuasive. It's always helpful to measure one's messaging against the lowest possible common denominator.

I've said this in other threads, but we have to remember that the President's lens of law enforcement includes the belief that the Central Park 5 should have been executed. He hasn't retreated from that view even after they have been exonerated and freed.

Do we really want that guy to have the ability to imprison without due process?
