Alex Pretti broke rib in confrontation with federal agents a week before death, sources say

ederal immigration officers have been collecting personal information about protesters and agitators in Minneapolis, sources told CNN – and had documented details about Alex Pretti before he was shot to death on Saturday.

It is unclear how Pretti first came to the attention of federal authorities, but sources told CNN that about a week before his death, he suffered a broken rib when a group of federal officers tackled him while he was protesting their attempt to detain other individuals.
The formulation of that headline is troubling.

You telling me dude broke his own rib? No? Then pray tell who did break his rib? That headline sure as shit isn't telling us.

That would get you an F in news editing for sure. Headlines are hard. News outlets just stopped caring and fired all the copy editors.

Trump's administration is sh*tting the bed with its handling of these killings. It will come back to bite them in the azz in future elections.
ICE is a failure for similar reasons as DOGE. There was a rush to set it up and fund it without good forethought and planning for its execution.
It appears that recruiting for ICE has not attracted, by and large, professional law enforcement candidates or responsible leadership.
The tragic end result is innocent civilian casualties. The administration is refusing to acknowledge any responsibility for its failures and pushing a false narrative that the public can plainly see is refuted on video.
The next logical step is to publicize the enormity of wasteful funding going into the program.
