This is also pure nonsense. That fool commenting is outright lying about what Obama said. Obama criticized the system of immigration. He did not say the first word about deportation. He said that we need comprehensive immigration reform in conjunction with border security. He was correct when he said it and it is still correct now.

There seems to be quite a few xenophobic countries who are realizing that mass migration, involving people who have a significantly different culture, doesn't work. 🤷‍♂️

Like I was telling Callatoroy after he made a long post about what he would like to see the government do with regards to immigration: yeah, what most republicans claim they want is what democrats are by and large proposing we should do.

I don't think much of the UK/Western European media is feeding anyone xenophobia. I think the people in those countries are coming to their own conclusions.

Go on Twitter. Open a new account. Scroll for five minutes. Click on anything political. You will find dozens of xenophobic tweets to three minutes into your scroll. You know this perfectly well. We know you know this perfectly well, because you try to pass it off as humor on the “funnies” thread. So edgy.

That's separate from the "media", especially in the UK, feeding people xenophobic info.
 
Twitter/social media is the media for most people now. Even for fox news viewers - The Sun readers/GB news viewers in the UK - partisan news is just there to confirm people’s viewpoints, in a sanitized, “this is all they’ll let us say, but you know how things really are; you’ve seen the truth on social media” sort of way.
