But ICE took the Door Dash woman’s child. That’s what she was crying about.
Apparently an update on this. Her husband was previously taken by ICE and she was worried if they took her, no one would take care of her children at home. As far as I can tell her children are safe for the moment.

Federal agents carrying out immigration arrests in Minnesota’s Twin Cities region already shaken by the fatal shooting of a woman rammed the door of one home Sunday and pushed their way inside, part of what the Department of Homeland Security has called its largest enforcement operation ever.

In a dramatic scene similar to those playing out across Minneapolis, agents captured a man in the home just minutes after pepper spraying protesters outside who had confronted the heavily armed federal agents. Along the residential street, protesters honked car horns, banged on drums and blew whistles in attempts to disrupt the operation.

Video of the clash taken by The Associated Press showed some agents pushing back protesters while a distraught woman later emerged from the house with a document that federal agents presented to arrest the man. Signed by an immigration officer, the document — unlike a warrant signed by a judge — does not authorize forced entry into a private residence. A warrant signed by an immigration officer only authorizes arrest in a public area.

I fear that if this kind of thing continues for another year or two (especially past the midterms and if Dems don't win by the large margins expected indicating that the supposed tidal shift reflected in polling was again a mirage) and there is every indication that it will continue, that non-MAGA folks are going to grow understandably tired of it and increasingly desperate and will finally reach a breaking point where they will resort to violence as a response to the Trump administration's deliberate and ongoing oppression and tyranny.

I'm not necessarily saying that it would be wrong, but that it seems to be the inevitable result of an ineffective campaign of trying to be better than and to resist the opposition while also not becoming them. When nothing changes and peaceful protestation doesn't seem to be working, and a significant portion of the population remains apathetic, it leads to feelings of hopelessness, helplessness, and desperation in those of us who do still care. Even the chronically abused wife occasionally finds the resolve to either hit back and/or to call the police.

Like Walter Matthau's character Groeteschele said in Fail Safe, "how long would the Nazis have kept it up, General, if every Jew they came after had met them with a gun in his hand?"

Gestapo tactics.

Oh, no! Me saying shit is JUST AS BAD as them actually doing shit! If it weren’t for people like me getting angry over their tactics, they wouldn’t have to employ those tactics, or something.

It's interesting to note that most right-wing media in the Renee Good shooting seems to be moving past "the ICE agent's life was in danger" to "She shouldn't have been there and had it coming" line of defense. And I'm sure that any future murders, shootings, incidents from ICE or other Trump-controlled law enforcement will be excused in the same way - if only stupid liberals weren't out there exercising their first amendment rights then it wouldn't have been necessary for ICE thugs to beat up/shoot/kill their worthless asses. That's clearly what the great majority of them seem to believe already.

I am big believer in our legal principal that one is innocent until proven guilty. To that end, I supported the @gofundme
for Jonathan Ross and intended to similarly support the gofundme for Renee Good’s family (her gofundme was closed by the time I attempted to provide support).

The whole situation is a tragedy. An officer doing his best to do his job, and a protester who likely did not intend to kill the officer but whose actions in a split second led to her death. Our country is stronger if we work together to resolve the complex issues that are tearing us apart. “

He lost me at doing his best to do his job. F that.

What a smug asshole. He manages to blame the victim while pretending that he would've donated to Good's family. He knew damn well that her family had already closed their GFM page before he decided to give to Ross. He misspelled "principle" because his post totally lacks it.

"[A] protester who likely did not intend to kill the officer but whose actions in a split second led to her death."

Removing all agency from the ICE officer. Good's state of mind, Good's actions, Good's death. As if it were an inevitability.

I think this one is on much firmer ground for the feds although body cams would have been nice. It sounds like he rammed enforcement vehicles and it sounds like, based on reports from the locals, that these are two people we don't really want in the US. It should also be noted that this was a border patrol operation. The agency that shot the lady Chicago and are deploying a bunch of undertrained yahoo's is ICE.

If ICE was going after these sorts and not the dad who had a DUI 20 years ago but now has kids on your kid's soccer team, they would get more support. If ICE was more targeted instead pf running a racist dragnet, they would get more support.

So guilt was established and a citizen lost her life based on the whims of a poorly trained agent outside his legal authority, but let's cease to make any assumptions on guilt for said agent? Did I get that bo-sides, nonsensical position correct?

Ackman can fuck right off.
Donating to Good’s family will provide support for her children who no longer have a mother. What loss did Ross incur? He suffered no physical injury. He likely can’t be sued, at least not successfully. He won’t be charged with a crime requiring an expensive legal defense. He hasn’t lost his job. He’s more likely to get a raise or promotion for shooting a woman in the head. Why would anyone donate to him other than to reward reckless, likely criminal behavior?

This is a few blocks from where I live. Not many immigrants living here, but there's still been an uptick in fascists rolling through the neighborhood.
They’ve been quite unproductive in terms of illegal immigrants detained per agent deployed and dollar spent. The videos of them beating up (and murdering) liberals are what they’re after.
