This is one part where I don't agree with the criticism. If someone has been blasted twice in the head at close range, there is a very good chance they are dead. There is nothing to do for that person. It is now a crime scene, and evidence needs to be preserved. Without knowing what they saw in that car after the shooting it is hard to criticize this part of their response.
if ICE gave a shit about following the law or preserving the crime scene they wouldn't have immediately whisked the shooter away and moved the body and other tampering with the scene.

i mean, what are we doing here. don't defend this shit. their response was horrific and cruel and largely illegal at every stage just like it usually is.

I consider myself to be an exceptionally hopeful and optimistic ever glass half full type of person. In general I almost always wake up every single day happy, excited, joyful, etc. Today I woke up with an uncharacteristic sense of dread, sadness, and heavy heartedness. It’s so demoralizing how much joy and glee right wingers are taking about yesterday. It’s beyond the pale. And it’s unprecedented, IMO. Yes, right wingers have become increasingly celebratory of Trumpism’s cruelty, indecency, and inhumanity. But yesterday, IMO, was something new and sinister beyond comprehension. The people at the very highest levels of the federal government openly and gleefully mocked and celebrated the execution of a 37-year-old mother by a federal agent. There’s no coming back from this moment, IMO. I truly, truly hate to sound dramatic or hyperbolic, but I truly believe that there is no coming back from the literal president and vice president of the United States finding humor and enjoyment in calling a slain mother a “domestic terrorist” and giving their base of followers wanton permission to celebrate it.

And we have (at least) 3 more years of this.
