He was also looking at his phone when he walked away and went to his car after the shooting. Would be interesting to know if he was texting with someone after he killed her.

Somwhwere around Halloween/Thanksgiving I began to believe that my worst fears about what Trump and MAGA will do were not going to come to fruition. Really felt the temp had been turned down. But Venezuela, this murder in broad daylight , and with what is probably coming for Greenland, my worst fears are back. If Trump gives no fucks and takes Greenland, I don’t see where they are going to let something like midterm elections stand in their way. After all might makes right…I consider myself to be an exceptionally hopeful and optimistic ever glass half full type of person. In general I almost always wake up every single day happy, excited, joyful, etc. Today I woke up with an uncharacteristic sense of dread, sadness, and heavy heartedness. It’s so demoralizing how much joy and glee right wingers are taking about yesterday. It’s beyond the pale. And it’s unprecedented, IMO. Yes, right wingers have become increasingly celebratory of Trumpism’s cruelty, indecency, and inhumanity. But yesterday, IMO, was something new and sinister beyond comprehension. The people at the very highest levels of the federal government openly and gleefully mocked and celebrated the execution of a 37-year-old mother by a federal agent. There’s no coming back from this moment, IMO. I truly, truly hate to sound dramatic or hyperbolic, but I truly believe that there is no coming back from the literal president and vice president of the United States finding humor and enjoyment in calling a slain mother a “domestic terrorist” and giving their base of followers wanton permission to celebrate it.
I really may need to take some time off from the news cycle and this board. Seeing what has become of my country and seeing these ICE pigs terrorizing citizens is pushing my mind to dark places.

For all the whining apologists do when it comes to the dangers of the job, you’d think some might recognize the best way to not have a car moving towards you is to not stand in front of it. His actions contributed to the situation in which he “feared for his life.” Standing in front of the car is not helpful in any way there. They never should have charged this guy in the first place. Seemed like it was clear-cut self defense from day one. Of course the misinformation was once again rampant ("she didn't steal anything, she didn't do anything wrong").
With a free pass to shoot from Department leadership. For many if not most, these angry insecure MAGA losers joined ICE for the money and the opportunity to beat up and shoot the libs who they think look down on them.

Relishing the opportunity to fulfill their violent fantasies
I have a couple law school classmates who were at Sidley Austin when he was (though not in the same office). Apparently everyone thought he was a pretty normal dude. Just turned out he was willing to change himself into a raving blood and soil nationalist in service of his personal ambition. If I were Yale Law, I'd be seriously tempted to revoke Vance's degree. And if they don't, I'd knock them out of the top 25 rankings just for the hell of it. Some admissions officer there made a monumental mistake admitting that sociopath.
i am the same kind of person. almost always happy and optimistic and glass half full and i feel the same way you do at this point. it's been building, the cruelty has been the point for years and the right has largely been reveling in that but this feels like a straw that broke the camels back sort of moment.I consider myself to be an exceptionally hopeful and optimistic ever glass half full type of person. I think there's one angle where it looks like the car grazed the officer (though the driver was clearly turning away from him).Is there a video out there that appears to show the officer being hit by the car? I've seen a bunch of angles now and none of them show that happening.
