The statement doesn't actually state what really happened - that the counter protesters were responsible for the bombs. This likely led to New Yorker's being confused about the culprits. Notice how the mayor calls out Lang by name and says that his protest is bigoted and racist but doesn't call out Kayumi and Balat by name or their religious ideology which fueled their violence.

People like the Mayor are trying to rationalize the terrorist sympathizers use of IEDs. The bombers were the victims...

Because he starts with something that isn't even illegal (protesting), attacks those protesters and wraps it in political rhetoric. That way we all know who's supposed to be the bad guys.

Then he calls out the use of IEDs and says nothing about those involved. No rhetoric. No accusations. Nothing about the intentions or beliefs of the people using the IEDs.

Um, the white supremacists were the first to resort to violence. They were using pepper spray and were arrested for that.

Plus, white supremacists are worse. Those two bomb throwers were just that, two bomb throwers. White supremacists organize massive terror campaigns that lead to far greater loss of life, not to mention the many other harms not as severe as murder.

The Mayor is not the topic of discussion and never was. You mooks brought him into it because that's what you do.

The country isn't going to hell because of Mamdani. The country isn't even going to hell because of ISIS bombers. It's going to hell because people like Jake Lang have power. That's who Trump has been putting into the bureaucracy. That's who ICE is run by and has been recruiting. That is the power base for something like 2/3 of the GOP. That is the problem. You want to stay on topic? then start talking about what matters.
