What would the reaction be? Parties in the streets? Political violence? Both? Will the GOP move back towards the center, or will the grift continue?

Your logic is flawed. You think only one party needs to move back to the center. It won’t happen. Both parties are moving further from the center driven by reactions from each sides movements. Do you think the violent political rhetoric is only coming from one side? Try to be objective and sit your biases aside.

Both are, but the Republicans are moving farther, faster.

As far as the violent rhetoric, only one party campaigns on it.

The violent political rhetoric is only coming from the LEADERSHIP of one side.

Said in a campaign vs said while in office makes no difference. The comments by Walz and Frey were not helpful in any way and equaled violent rhetoric. Im condemning ALL of it. My view is the same today as it was after the Kirk shooting. I called out the hyperbolic and violent rhetoric coming from the right. There is no situation where it is ok for one side and wrong for the other.

No, your logic is flawed. While there are extremists in both parties, only one party is being controlled by their extremists.
 
…and the Minnesota Lt Gov told her citizens to go out and “put their bodies” on the line in combating ICE.

Why? Trump is the oldest President of all time and is unhealthy. I'm not wishing for anything violent to happen to him but it is a valid question about what would happen in the immediate aftermath of him experiencing a medical emergency that is not uncommon for people of his age.

The left wing of the Democratic Party is basically the same as the early 70s and McGovern. Spend taxpayer $$ on social programs. On average, the DNC is farther left because the Tea Party and MAGA targeted Blue Dog Dems and centrists. This happened in my district in Texas to Chet Edwards as TP/alt-right/MAGA powers literally have been white washing the state. This devolution or progression inevitably led to Orange Guy, who is a long-time NYC Democrat and not a conservative. He's all transactional, all the time. The GQP live in his scam/grift power bubble. MAGA are NOT the far right, although they politically conspire.

Orange Guy & MAGA subscribe ironically (but not surprisingly) to isolationst, anti-free trade, and anti-globalism (which the US created not Europe), and fake populism. We created free trade and globalism to not only keep Soviets and Maoist China at bay, but to reform and refocus Japan and Germany on economic growth, rather than on military conquest.

We're starting to see some fissures in MAGA with Trump 2.0 without guard rails - this doesn't mean that it's going to end well...but there's a glimmer of hope that Trump's power is finite and he could be a lame duck soon. Independent and moderate polling is a disaster for the GOP. November's a way off though, and the Dems have no viable leadership. Yet. Newsom, BTW, can't win in 2028 because he can't sell the US as California if the GOP nominates anyone besides JV Vance. Million $ homes for affordability?

At most that says, to out an be a martyr...or more likely fulfill a constitutional right to protest.
