The whispers about this have been out there and are growing louder — DoD is using expensive, long range precision munitions like candy for limited return against regional gadflies without the manufacturing capacity to quickly restock them — and now the trade war with China sees China restricting materials that are used to build them.
The Trump Administration says they want to pivot to China but their actions seem to be clearing a runway for China to take Taiwan without U.S. defense/ intervention.
