I would ordinarily enjoy watching Trump supporters trying to put some positive spin on what appears to be an unmitigated disaster, but I’m just not sure how much more international humiliation this country can stand. Just unbelievable how quickly this idiotic administration has destroyed our credibility and respect.

Not saying it was pre meditated with the end goal of getting her the nomination. What isn’t spin is that the entire dem party, including it’s media empire knowingly lied and covered it up until it couldn’t so there is no moral high ground the left can claim with regard to covering for any elected official with mental decline. And, it’s spin from the left to say they couldn’t hold a primary. They chose not to due to their identity politics boxing them in.
He doesn't rape, steal and kill randomly(random wars and war crimes)

so we surrendered?

The Guardian:

  • Donald Trump has pulled back on his threats to launch devastating strikes on Iran, less than two hours before a deadline he set for Tehran to capitulate or else a “whole civilization will die.” Trump said he was holding off on his threatened attacks on Iranian bridges, power plants and other civilian targets, subject to Tehran agreeing to a two-week ceasefire and reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, the waterway through which a fifth of the world’s oil is shipped during peacetime.
  • Iran’s Supreme National Security Council said it had conditionally accepted a two-week ceasefire if attacks agains Iran are halted.
  • Iran’s foreign minister said passage through the strait of Hormuz will be allowed for the next 2 weeks under Iranian military management.
  • Iranian state media said negotiations with the US would be held in Islamabad to finalise details of an agreement, with the aim of “confirming Iran’s battlefield achievements”. Talks will begin on Friday 10 April and may be extended, state media reported. State media also reported that talks with the US do not amount to the end of the war.
  • Pakistani prime minister Shebaz Sharif announced that Iran, the US and their allies agreed to an immediate ceasefire everywhere, including Lebanon. Sharif has been a key figure in attempting to reach a diplomatic solution between the two warring parties. In his statement, Sharif invited delegations to Islamabad on “Friday, 10th April 2026, to further negotiate for a conclusive agreement to settle all disputes.”
  • Trump said Iran had proposed a “workable” 10-point peace plan. According to Iranian state media, the ten-point proposal includes a number of conditions that the US has in the past rejected. Among them are controlled transit through strait of Hormuz coordinated with Iranian armed forces and withdrawal of all US forces from regional bases. The plan would also require the lifting of all primary and secondary sanctions, payment of full compensation to Iran and release of all frozen Iranian assets.
  • Iranian state media also said the 10-point plan for securing an end to the war would require Washington to accept its uranium enrichment program, a previous red line for the Trump administration.
  • Even as the ceasefire was proposed, missile alerts continued in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Israel.
If this is all true and the deal holds up then this is a massive defeat for the USA, no question. Trump 2.0 will basically be caving to nearly every Iranian demand and getting nothing in return other than an end to the shooting and bombing which we started. It will make Iran wealthier and more powerful than it was before, will allow them to continue research on building a nuclear device, and will give them military control of the Persian Gulf and all that portends for the future. It will make the situation massively worse in the Middle East, including for Israel, and will seriously weaken the US throughout the entire region. Good God.

ETA: I can't wait to see how Trumpers will spin this "deal" if the details are accurate. There is no real way to present it other than a massive defeat for Trump and the United States, but I'm sure they will try to argue...something, somehow.

Almost certainly and Republicans too... Through proxies that obscure that funding because direct funding would be illegal.
Is proxies another word for Americans?

There are plenty of rich pro-Israeli Americans. Israel doesn't need to launder money through Americans; there are plenty of Americans who are very pro-Israel on their own.

Over the past several days he made a complete ass of the United States and the US Presidency for no reason at all (not that any reason would be a good reason, but he did it for no reason).

How much of this latest Taco is because of the heat he’s getting from Republicans that are worried about getting crushed in the midterms?

Or is he just too much of a blowhard puss to follow through w his threats?

Yes it could be both :)

He is showing our great strength
Which-no shit-like everyone did not know that
Its what yo do with strength that counts

Leaked documents revealed discussions about channeling funds through third-party American nonprofits to mask the source of money for campaigns.
There has never been any debate about Israeli groups contributing to American nonprofits.

But that isn't what you claimed. You said that Israel is giving money to politicians. That is a much different claim.

If you want to allege that Israel influences American discourse and politics, have at it. That is 100% true. But if you are claiming that American politicians are being bribed by Israeli money, as opposed to pro-Israeli Americans, then that is an allegation that requires some proof.

Netanyahu says Lebanon not included in the ceasefire.

If anyone on the board can’t read Hebrew:

“Israel supports President Trump's decision to suspend the attacks against Iran for two weeks, subject to Iran immediately opening the straits and ceasing all attacks on the US, Israel, and the countries of the region.

Israel also supports the American effort to ensure that Iran no longer poses a nuclear, missile, and terrorist threat to the US, Israel, Iran's Arab neighbors, and the world.

The United States has informed Israel that it is committed to achieving these goals, which are shared by the US, Israel, and Israel's regional allies, as part of the upcoming negotiations.

The two-week ceasefire does not include Lebanon.”
