Antisemite I see. That aside, the issue is the impact the “worse” war has on the global economy for years. We are dealing with $110 oil prices now and that might last until……shortly after we leave. An all out ME war would last years. Tell the poor in this country that would be harmed the most by protracted high oil prices “not to worry, we have the moral high ground.”

Pro-Israel is not Israel.

There are many, many rich Americans who are fervently pro-Israel, both Jews and Evangelicals.

There is no debate that pro-Israel interests give money to politicans.

Again, that was not the claim the bumble bee made. He said Israel (not pro-Israeli Americans) was giving money to democrat and republican politicians alike.

I've not see evidence of that. Have you? Has our GT friend?

I didn't start this fucking idiotic war, he did. He's the one who has been contradicting himself all over the place. He's the one who got himself into this fix, not this board. If he didn't start this war he wouldn't need to "walk away", so I'm not sure what kind of point you think you're winning here. So are you arguing that he's not going to allow Iran to control the Strait of Hormuz? And if not, there is no ceasefire and we're back to square one, and Iran will still control the Strait and the traffic going through it. You seem to be bending over backwards to justify his stupidity in starting this poorly thought through, utterly needless, disastrous conflict.

Um, no. The point is that Trump fucked up big time and created the no win situation that you are now lamenting.

Remember how Vader killed Obi-Wan but Obi-Wan emerged more powerful than ever before (according to Obi-Wan)? That's basically what happened here.
 
To be honest, I have trouble believing the US agreed to everything in the 10 point plan. But if Trump called it workable for negotiations, then I suspect that he will end up agreeing to a large portion of it.

I would be surprised if there are any reparations paid, and I doubt the US will agree to uranium enrichment. But I don't think Iran needs that. If they control the strait, they can just keep enriching and what is anyone going to do about it? Reprise of this situation?

That Trump post definitely sounds like TACOs Grande and not just the beginning of a negotiation, but as we know, his comments tomorrow may be entirely different.
 
Congress isn’t needed to begin the war, but per Lindsey Graham. Congressional approval is needed to end the war.

The hilarious thing here is that Trump defeated himself with his own civilization destroying bluff. Everyone knew he wasn't really going to do it. Meanwhile, by making such a big show of it, he put himself in a position where he had to sue for peace to prevent loss of face. And even worse, he tried an exploding offer. Exploding offers are rarely credible and this was no exception, but it again boxed him in. Now he needed to sue for peace and get an agreement by 8pm. All leverage to Iran.
