I posted a video last week about Tripoli. I think it is designed to get nearer the strait than the carriers and doesn't need a whole fleet with it. Plus, there are already significant assets in the region, so I assume it said peace out to its friends in the Philippines and made a bee-line for the strait.
Ukraine targeted the Russian AWACS just like this. Iran has been paying attention to that war and applying what Ukraine has been doing to this war. We have not been paying good attention and learning.
