Winning = Internationally respected freedom of navigation on the high seas as an internationally established norm enshrined in international Maritime Law and backed up by the full military capacity of the post WWII Western Alliance.

Losing = Deciding all of that stuff above is for pussies, and you have a bigger military than anyone else so you can make all the rules, only to belated realize that while yes, your military is bigger than everyone else's, that it is not big enough to control even 20% of the Earth's surface at any given point in the time, and that our modern way of life is supported by an intricate web of commerce that that is truly globe spanning, and in the new "Might Males Right"* world you just kicked off, you've well and truly fucked yourself because no matter how you position your military, the other 80% of the globe is full of chokepoints that can be used to cripple your country and you can't control them all at once, and the only possible way to keep your way of life running (for you and the rest of the world), is to go back to the system you were just crowing about blowing up. Oh, but wait, you just empowered a country with noting to lose to realize they were holding all the cards all along, and they don't want to go back to the old system so you're well and truly fucked.

*Reminds me I need to reread T.H. White's The Once And Future King where this is all laid out so nicely so that even children can understand it.

The “goal” of this silly war changes based on the whims of a mad man. They have no idea what they’re doing. And it’s more and more infuriating by the day. The entire world is laughing at us.
 
I'm struggling with keeping up with the new lately, just so much going on I had to shut something down for my mental well being.

But today I listened to a podcast where they were discussing the stupidity of this war.

They quoted this maga idiot from Newsmax, I believe Alan Dershowitz. This idiot said that if trump were president in 1930 he would have stopped Hitler and avoided the world wars and the holocaust. These cult members are so completely delusional.

There was another quote from the leader of a far right group in Denmark that was once behind trump. The guy has changed his tune watching trump, when asked about it he said the nicest thing he could say to trump now is "Fuck you". At least that guy seems to have pulled his head out of trumps ass.
