The Democrats want to act like Donald Trump is doing harm to the world, and maybe he is, while totally ignoring the fact that maybe they are too. Their opposition to Trump, at all costs, have real world consequences. When Trump threatens to escalate the war to new levels to try and encourage the Iranians to come to the negotiating table, the Democrats cry war crimes, war crimes. When Trump announces there is a ceasefire, the Democrats claim he caved and capitulated. Same thing when Trump was meeting with Kim Jong Un. What were the Democrats doing? Trying to impeach him for some bullshit charge. There is no winning for Trump with the Democrats no matter what he does, and you don't think seeing the US divided only encourages the Iranians to continue to resist?

Let's just say instead of seeing a united front the Iranians see the resistance Trump is getting at home, resistance that would never come if a Democrat president was executing the war, and decide to wait it out. And let's say that that resistance causes Trump and the US to take a course that leads to these same radicals remaining in control of Iran when maybe there was a chance to eliminate their control. And let's say that those same people, with all of their history of hostilities towards the US, are somehow able to one day acquire nuclear weapons.

Will Democrats really feel like they won in their efforts to oppose Trump if and when a bunch of radicals decide it's a good idea to blow their asses off the face of the earth and on top of that, have the ability to do so as a direct result of Democrat's Trump resistance? Does that sound like a win?
It’s always nice to have a reminder that there are even dumber Pubs than calla & ramrouser.

Lololol sure, buddy, sure.

Dude just presided over the military equivalent of losing to 16th seed Farleigh Dickinson.
Eh - I mean we didn't lose a military conflict. The performance of the military was good. We smashed Iran's military, as anyone with a brain knew we could and would. Trump and Hegseth just don't understand the difference between a tactical victory and a strategic one. They're applying video-game logic (we won the military conflict, so that means we won the war and should get everything we want) and getting slapped in the face by the real-world strategic reality that everyone else recognized long ago.

Probably the better analogy would be that Trump and Hegseth just beat 16-seed Fairleigh Dickinson by 50 in the first round and are now standing at center court demanding to be handed the championship trophy and enraged that no one is willing to do it.

I agree. You nailed it about the difference between tactical victory and strategic victory.

While somehow having agreed to play an away game at FDU for the foreseeable future for no apparent reason.

It's notable the only "defense" of this ceasefire we've seen from any of our conservatives so far is Calla's assertion that it's simply not possible Trump would have agreed to a deal as bad as is being reported.
That's because they pledged allegiance to a God-King and thus forfeited their true birthrights as American citizens: freedom of conscience.

Now they are but wrinkled buglers marching aimlessly under wisps of befouled flags that tremble in a winter breeze

Yeah I read that tweet and thought “this reads like fanfic of some subculture I know nothing of.”
I think the short answer is the more media savvy influencers are reading the room and heading for the exits, while the less savvy ones are sticking too thier guns.

Won't matter anyway, they will all be back at it soon enough, they just can't grift as profitably from the left as they can the right. They will all unimately pull a Glenn Beck / Meggan Kelley and be back at it again shortly. Keeping thier powder dry until they see who the heir apparent is, is all.

Won the battles. Lost the war.

And it's a unilateral ceasefire as Iran and Israel continue to pummel each other and Lebanon.

Not to mention JV Vance's excursion to f*cking Hungary, where he campaigns for Orban. What a Charlie Foxtrot of an administration...and the 681st example of why I left the GOP in 2015

You can spot the kind of decline biden displayed. The confusion, inability to finish sentences, etc. trump doesn't display the same type of decline if he has any decline.
Trump is a sociopath and mentally unstable. You're either mentally unstable yourself, an idiot, or a huge racist and bigot if you still support him. Probably all the above.
