Their opposition to Trump, at all costs, have real world consequences. When Trump announces there is a ceasefire, the Democrats claim he caved and capitulated. Same thing when Trump was meeting with Kim Jong Un. What were the Democrats doing? Trying to impeach him for some bullshit charge. There is no winning for Trump with the Democrats no matter what he does, and you don't think seeing the US divided only encourages the Iranians to continue to resist?

Let's just say instead of seeing a united front the Iranians see the resistance Trump is getting at home, resistance that would never come if a Democrat president was executing the war, and decide to wait it out. And let's say that that resistance causes Trump and the US to take a course that leads to these same radicals remaining in control of Iran when maybe there was a chance to eliminate their control. And let's say that those same people, with all of their history of hostilities towards the US, are somehow able to one day acquire nuclear weapons.

Will Democrats really feel like they won in their efforts to oppose Trump if and when a bunch of radicals decide it's a good idea to blow their asses off the face of the earth and on top of that, have the ability to do so as a direct result of Democrat's Trump resistance? Does that sound like a win?

Iran in no way shape or form wants a "cease fire" becuse they are winning the oil supply war, so why would they agree to open the Straight? You don't.

But what Iran would like is a slower operational tempo. Retain more of thier force structure while waiting for the oil disruption to bite. And also waiting for China to restock their missile supply (not directly, most likey by shipping newer missiles to N. Korea, and having N. Korea ship the older missels to Iran (a two-fer for China!).

Iran is playing ceasefire footsie to try to slow the oerational pace, becasue time is on their side (and are doing it sucessfully if you ask me).

I wouldn’t go that far. We were fighting fear of the “domino theory.”
 
Iran also wants de facto or de jure rules about deciding what traffic transits the straight, because, after all, China needs oil too.

God, what a mess. With this current adinistration in charge, it just feels like our country is drunk at the wheel. I hate this.

I was going to say earlier, when Trump said, “we were thinking about splitting it,” that that “we” meant him and his stupid cabinet members, and definitely not anyone from Iran.
