That is signing up thousands of people’s sons, daughters, husbands, and wives to go get slaughtered in the desert in the Middle East. Then what happens? Surely a nation of 90 million people aren’t going to just accept regime change by an invading enemy that they now likely see as the worse of two evils. Who are we going to install as the replacement regime? Are we going to occupy a nation of 90 million people, with some of the most treacherous terrain in the entire world, to ensure that our chosen replacement regime remains in power? How long are we willing to stay? How many American lives are we willing to lose? How many American dollars are we willing to spend?
