As far as the end of humanity, you'll have to admit it's been a nice run. We've come a long way baby. Some of us aren't dragging our knuckles too much anymore. Not breathing through our mouths. We've had some nice technological advances.

Born in 1959 I think I was very fortunate. Loaded with privileges (white, male, right-handed, 6'-2"), lower-middle class but was able to attend college with a College Foundation Loan.

I was born just in time for color TV and Central Air conditioning. Indoor plumbing everywhere (Didn't have to suffer through outhouses, or chamber pots). Enjoyed the absolute best era for music (Late 50's through early 1970's). Dean Smith.

I was born too late for Vietnam - didn't even have to register in 1977 (they had shut that down for a couple of years and I squeaked by).

Obviously things haven't been great for everyone on the planet the past 60 years +/-. Some folks in under-developed, so-called 3rd World countries (don't like that term really) haven't actually had cake and ice cream for their entire lives.

But for most Americans - and a lot of the developed (1st World) countries - these past 60+/- years have been pretty easy compared to other decades and centuries across the globe.

But, all good things must come to an end. Mankind/humanity just can't stay out of it's own way. Barbarians still, really. We still have quite a few mouth-breathing knuckle-draggers amongst us.

Somebody earlier (above) was right - Mother Earth will be just fine, thanks. No need to "save" her. Once she's rid of all of us, she'll come out smelling like a rose. Literally.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!
“We still have quite a few mouth-breathing knuckle-draggers amongst us”

No kidding. They are running our country.

If they are using Shahed drones, then those things have a long range. I doubt our military has adapted at all to deal with that. Perhaps Trump should call Ukraine's Zelensky for help on dealing with those? I am sure a nice little deal could be worked out. But no free help considering...........

I know its beyond Trump's ability, but he really should look at a map of Iran and surrounding countries. I could see Iran launching a ground invasion of Kuwait once our stocks of bombs are low. Sure, would have to transit a bit of Iraq, but Iraq is friendly toward Iran and that issue might could be worked out. And considering it looks like the Gulf nations had a role in this, then Iran might feel obliged to punish them. Certainly would freak Saudi's MBS out.

Here’s the latest Reuters/Ipsos survey on U.S. intervention in Iran (very recent—March 2026):

🗳️ Reuters/Ipsos Poll (March 2026)

📊 Key results
  • 27% support U.S. military strikes on Iran
  • 43% oppose the strikes
  • ~29–30% unsure
👉 In simple terms: only about 1 in 4 Americans favor intervention, while a clear plurality is against it.

🧠 What the poll shows
1. 🇺🇸 Public is skeptical of intervention
  • Support is fairly low for a major military action
  • Opposition is significantly higher than support
2. ⚖️ Concerns about leadership and escalation
  • 56% say leadership is too quick to use military force
  • Many worry about:
    • A wider war
    • U.S. troop casualties
    • Long-term involvemen
3. 💰 Economic fears matter
  • About 45% would oppose the war if it raises gas prices
👉 That’s a big factor—people connect foreign wars to costs at home.

4. 🧩 Partisan divide (but not total
  • Democrats: overwhelmingly opposed
  • Republicans: more supportive, but still divided
  • Independents: mostly skeptical
⚖️ Bottom line
  • Americans generally support defending U.S. citizens
  • But when it comes to large-scale intervention or war with Iran,
👉 most are cautious or opposed
