Because Democrats, by far, are the ones I hear/see blaming the behavior of terrorists on most anything they can come up with..other than religion.

This is fair although the line between "rival" and "enemy" is thin and crossed numerous times - they certainly use proxies against each other in numerous fields of battle. I think the real risk is using a nuclear Iran as pretense for their own nuclear ambitions and thereby creating a nuclear arms race in the Middle East.

When terrorists attack abortion clinics the blame from Dems, by far, is like 99% religion. But even then we call those people radicalized. The bible is their excuse or reason, though the bible doesn't instruct death to abortion providers. Just like the horrific violence in the Crusades wasn't mandated in the first or new testament, i don't think. Similarly violent muslim jihadists are becoming radicalized by factors. The Koran and Bible can both be interpreted radically if you take things out of context and you are pissed-off, disturbed, brain-washed and desperate.

That sounds a lot like making excuses.

I'm not saying there are radicalized people in other religions. I'm saying that Dems, in general, do not take the religious aspect as seriously as they should. They do not understand how much the promise of afterlife plays into the behavior of not only Jihadists, but also a significant number of civilians.

I don't see the issue with that comment. He's not saying China is moral. He's saying China has credibility with both Iran and Israel, which is correct. We have credibility with Israel but not with Iran. Russia has credibility with Iran but not with Israel. China is the only superpower that has leverage with both. What's wrong with that observation?

I'm with TarSpiel and I believe we can still be very strong allies with Iran. We once were. It makes sense. They are our natural allies in the region. They have an ancient, complex, fascinating history and culture with incredible poetry, music and art. They have been duped. The Iranian peoples deserve so much better and I hope for great things down the road. A very young population and the youth by and large love the US.
