I only ever reserve that very specific type of shitposting for one very specific prolific shitposter. I bet you might be able to guess who it is! It’s the same guy who gets on this board drunk as a skunk every Friday and Saturday night and regales us with the absolute dumbest slop imaginable from the absolute dumbest parts of his social media feed. Notice how I never, ever direct that kind of shitposting that you reference above toward any other poster. It’s because no other poster routinely comes onto this board and says the kind of garbage that that particular poster does. Also notice that I only ever direct said shitposting to him when he initially responds specifically to posts of mine that have nothing to do with him. I don’t ever initiate the trash talking with him. You’re free to put me on ignore, because as long as he continues to respond to serious posts of mine with his garbage, I’m going to continue to respond in kind. Sure, that probably makes me pretty immature to not rise above and be the better person, and sure my own trash talking to him is excessively profane and over the top- I don’t deny that at all, and I’m not even proud of it. But don’t act like my very targeted shitposting toward one specific shitposter on a message board is some larger broad indictment on my character or my ability to conduct myself well in my outside personal and professional life. And also feel completely free in the future to reserve this exact same type of concern for whenever that other poster derails some other thread with his inane nonsense about transgender people, women’s studies majors, and nose-ringed baristas.

You shouldn't take seriously anybody who takes what is said on a message board seriously, especially someone is such a novice to the environs.

Just the fact that they would opine after so little interaction with the people and purpose of the board should indicate just how tuned in and invaluable their insight is.

Oh yeah, I did have that same thought, as well, that it was fascinating that that guy used his 25th ever post on this board that has been around for over a year and a half to lecture me about my message board etiquette.

I definitely don’t deny that I’m wrong for stooping to ram’s level with my own crassness and vulgarity, and I definitely need to rein in the vulgarity in particular. I am better than that.

Well, I am, too, sometimes. I don't let that stop me if I'm in a bad mood, the poster is obnoxious enough, or what I want to say amuses me enough. This IS about entertaining yourself primarily. I don't pick fights but I don't back away either.
