I was curious...Spain exports about $20billion to the US and imports about $30 billion.

1)that represents 5% of Spain's exports. Nice chunk of money but not irreplaceable.
2) the is one of those countries that actually runs a trade surplus with the US.

Also, US tourists rank sixth in visits to Spain.

It continues to encourage Europe to trade instead with China, Japan, SK, AUS instead of the US. It's just macroeconomically stupid.

It reduces capital flux out and with a massive deficit stokes inflation
 
I'm curious to see the reaction by the Spanish public. The pendulum has swung from left to right and back over the last 30 years. Elections have been pretty close (IIRC the 2023 election was very tight).

Also curious to see how the other euros react.

This take is both astonishing and breathtaking. I completely disagree, you commence a fight like this with clear objectives, to win and win decisively, and with detailed planning and contingency plans in place. You game out our logistics so that you have sufficient material and personnel to accomplish the mission objectives. I could go on but to commence an operation of this scale and implications and to have it blunder so quickly and then take the position that it at least provides intel is stupefying and at best flawed logic.

All battlefield intel is valuable -- especially when warfare has changed so much in the last five years. You can prepare all you want for war, but until you are actually on the battlefield, there are things you simply cannot know.

As I made clear, this is not a justification for war. But it is true. Think about how much Russia has learned about war in the last four years. Was it a good idea for Russia to start that war? Absolutely not. Has it learned extremely valuable military information over the last four years? Absolutely.
