We aren't launching a conventional invasion of Iran. Trump is stupid but he isn't THAT stupid. This administration does like social media wins, though. My guess is that we'll probably launch a token special forces "raid" of a soft target in Iran, stick around long enough to get pictures to post on X and Truth social, and that will be it for the publicly visible ground component.

I also think we'll experience blowback from this fiasco years down the road through terrorist attacks by Iranian proxies and lone-wolves. The Iranians don't forget.

I wish I shared your confidence but I learned very early in the first Trump administration that betting against Trump's stupidity was a sucker bet.
