“The Long-Feared Persian Gulf Oil Squeeze Is Upon Us,” warning that the stoppage of traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has set off “the most severe energy crisis since the 1970s and [is] threatening the global economy.”

I guess we all fucked around and we’re about to find out…
Anybody here remember the mid 1970’s oil shortage? Remember the gas lines? Even numbers get gas on MWF, odd numbers get gas on T,Th, S. - or some shit like that -

Remember the horrible attempts of US Auto manufacturers trying to build fuel efficient cars? The Vega, Gremlin, Pinto… ugh.
(I drove a Vega in 1976-78, what a POS)

Sounds like Mr. TACO is confessing to a war crime!

The Hague, if you’re listening….

What an idiot. Who even wants some clown up there winging it as president... I don't care how racist you are, how tired you are of transgender, how well you understand tariffs, or if you want all undocumented people to go home.

Why would you want someone this fucking dumb in charge... especially knowing that he's also a scammer.

There were smarter deplorables if that's what you wanted.

The non-war-war which wasn't started by Trump but was started by Trump because Iran was about to initiate a nuclear attack on us...with nuclear weapons that were OBLITERATED last year by Trump...is ending, except it's not ending because it's just beginning...but it is ending--soon--but we don't know when, and if you question that you're a "Panican," but the only reason Trump indicated it would be ending--which it's not, but it is (not)--is because he completely panicked when he saw the oil prices exploding--which, weren't exploding, they were merely jumping up with joy at Trump having (not) started/ended the non-war-war against Iran.

^^That's the president's recent speech in a nutshell.

It's gone "pretty much" like one would predict. Lots of bombing for Israel. Scattered American casualties. Straits of Hormuz nearly closed. Trump makes empty threats. Oil futures surge. Stock market and bond market tank.

Trump goes TACO.
Agree completely, except that Trump TACOing this time won't necessarily help right away, as the mess we've created this time is going to take longer to recover from. Now that Iran knows it can disrupt our oil supplies and hurt our economy they'll likely continue doing so to bring pain to Dear Leader's administration and to isolate Israel even further from world opinion. Big Oil will be reluctant to lower gas prices as long as those profits keep flowing in. Of course Trump won't care, but all of those Republicans running for reelection in purple and competitive states and districts are going to.

Tucker Carlson on the lack of honor exhibited by the US:

"You can't have a war unless you believe you are — on the deepest level — better than the people you're fighting."

The school was hit twice, forty minutes apart, Tucker says Americans need to demand answers, because national honor depends on it.

"If you wake up in the morning living in the kind of country that thinks it's okay to kill — not simply military officers — but their daughters…

That country is not worth fighting for."

Those cars were all pieces of crap and they even looked horrible. The Pinto was famous for catching on fire if it was hit in the back by another vehicle, even just enough to cause slight damage. I'm just old enough to remember the oil embargo and gas stations putting handwritten cardboard signs saying "out of gas" on their pumps. It was bad enough then, but if something like that happened today with the internet and current political climate it would likely be insane - I envision plenty of fights and even shootings in some areas at gas stations.

Dammit. Now I agree with Tucker. I need a shower.

Old men exchanging threats; but also a way of trying to bait Trump into continuing fighting (assuming Iranian hard liners believe they will emerge victorious if they can stretch things out long enough for political pressure at home to become unbearable for Trump)?
