Wmheel was close! I’m 37. My grandfather was in the reserves and got called up as a 55 year old (or thereabouts). I think he’s 91 now. It’s a very long story- one that he loves to tell at length- but he enlisted and was active duty Navy for the Korean War (didn’t see combat) then went in the Army reserves during college at Auburn and stayed in until Desert Storm. As far as we can tell, he’s the only one to have done that.
That’s a cool story.

Boy, our board MAGAts sure have been avoiding this thread like the plague lately. Must be #SuperDuperExtraBiglyBusySZN at work!
Like our board ultra libs avoiding recent terror attacks, the MAGAts are tightening their bubbles and keeping a focus on immigrant crime, voter fraud & criminal enterprises run from pizza parlors.

Which libs in particular do you feel like are avoiding the terror attack thread?

The ones who post from Clash Report that the Americans are sinking tankers.
Gotcha. I don’t know what Clash Report is but I’m guessing it’s something sensationalized?

I know for me personally, I have not posted on the terror attack thread because I don’t have anything good or insightful to add other than I would say that I feel horrible for the victims, glad that the assailant at ODU was killed, and express disdain for Jihadists and extremists of all kinds. So maybe others feel similar and haven’t contributed. It’s hard to keep up with all of the insanity going on in our country and around the world right now!

At sort of the same point in time as St. Donald of Mar-a-Lago's first term, his chief of staff was General John Kelly. I tend to think General Kelly was a voice of reason and restraint that is completely lacking in St. Donald's second term.

Completely unrelated story: When I was a small boy, 2nd or 3rd grade, my father's commanding officer from WW2 visited my Dad in our home. This commanding office was Lewis B. Puller. Because he was visiting his daughter at Camp Lejuene, the base commander had made a car and driver available to him, so he came up to visit Dad at our home. Gen. Puller was dressed in his dress greens. And he had three stars on his uniform signifying he was a Lieutenant General. And he told me that he had retired as a Major General, but because he had served in combat, he got promoted to Lieutenant General after he retired. I asked why a Lieutenant General outranked a Major General when a Major ranked a Lieutenant. He laughed, said he didn't know, and added that four star generals are just called Generals.

Project 25 made sure to exclude those types of voices this go-around. Well that, and the fact Trump fired a majority of that type the first go-around.

Good story. I always wondered about the Lieutenant vs Major General rank myself. Maybe AI can tell me.
