Yeah, and stoning and crucifixion are in the Bible. Just because an ancient text deals in insanity doesnt mean the current world follows those ideas. Our behavior in the Middle East for my entire lifetime has been atrocious and would make anyone hate us as a nation.

I agree. Christians have moved on from nearly all of the socially unacceptable "norms" of the Bible. Muslim fundamentalists have not. They still support (actively support in many cases) killing homosexuals, martyrdom, violent Jihad, the killing of apostates, etc.

The same is true for many Christian Nationalists. That along with the subjugation of women and a return to slavery. I doubt the percentage of Christian Nationalists and their supporters and Islamists and theirs are probably fairly similar. I still blame monotheism and especially the Abrahamic religions.

Yep. The only thing that keeps our own brand of jihadists from doing awful things is a structure of civil law that was developed by deists over the centuries. A structure that is in great peril right now.
