Those incidents are very obviously the exception and not the norm. The definition of genocide, as was discussed previously, is that there is intent. Clearly, despite the accidents and mistakes, IDF is not intent on killing civilians. It's obviously the opposite.

So you’re justifying Israel sniping children because they could be a threat? So any Palestinian then is a suspect in your eyes. With that mindset, there are no civilians. It all makes sense now

I would need to see the exact situation to give an opinion but, given the realities of how Islamic terrorists operate, you can't rule out shooting women and children in certain situations.

This is why sanctions/blockades almost never spur regime change. It actually helps the dictators retain power, because it increases the dictators' ability to specify who gets what.

And that's why the blockade was stupid from the start. I predicted exactly this. The blockade made it harder to organize small scale attacks, as did their relatively new fencing. Well, it wasn't going to make the anger go away, and it wasn't going to unseat Hamas. What it would do is spur a larger attack.

I think Israel knows it too, which is why their plan is to make the blockade obsolete by ethnically cleaning the area.

Saying things like “ethnically cleanse” is always supposed to get folks riled up but I don’t think Israel is killing them because they are Palestinian. They are killing them because they know those people would kill them.

Can’t rule it out? On 10/7, they took kids and women. They took grandparents. They don’t value life.

Just stop. It is not to get people riled up. This absolutely meets the definition of ethnic cleansing, and it's not close. If it matters to you, I have a good friend from law school who worked for the UN Commission on Human Rights. She's been publicly referring to it as ethnic cleansing for some time. But yeah, probably you know more.

A suspicion that people might kill you (which is almost certainly untrue for the children being killed, not to mention everyone being starved, and also most people in Gaza are not fighters) is never a justification for killing. It's definitely not a justification for war.

This type of bullshit pisses me off so much. It's one thing to pretend you know something about a subject like, oh say, tariffs. That's offensive and annoying enough. But bullshitting about a genocide or ethnic cleansing? Why? Why would you do that? It's so insensitive and obnoxious, and it's 10x worse when it's apparent you have no idea what you're talking about.

Why must people feel an obligation to have opinions when they have no knowledge? This baffles me to no end.
 
Killing someone who you believe might possibly at some point in the future try to harm you doesn't excuse the killing. It just doesn't.

If you stood someone in front of me an told me point blank that this person planned to kill me, I would not shoot them. No way, no how.

If the United States gets in a war with an African country, they are not ethnically cleansing Africans..
 
Both regimes are peas of the same pod. Iran constantly saber rattles to stay relevant while Bibi constantly is starting wars to divert attention from his disaster of a leadership and corruption, all to keep power.

The world would be a better place if both regimes were not in power.

Either way, we must back away and stop bending ofer backwards to kiss Israel butt when it is making the USA more dangerous. Sad that lobby money is more important than our own citizens.

And that is the only way to get to hamas who is hiding behind them. Hamas doesn’t give a shit about Palestinians beyond their value to use as shields. The Palestinians sold their soul to Hamas and now it’s killing them.

To clarify, I was talking about IDF shooting women and children.

I do hold IDF to a higher standard. They're in an impossible situation where literally anyone, of any sex, any age and dressed in any way could make an attempt on on their lives, which is why they killed 3 hostages, something they would obviously never want to do.

They are fighting against people who, because of their religious fanaticism, have no real sense of right or wrong, especially in war.
