There's no credible indication that the fire in Tehran a couple of nights ago was linked to Israel or was even suspicious.

Lebanon is a multicultural country with a diverse government, but hamstrung by invasion from Syrians, Hezbollah, PLO, and Israel. Leganon has been racked by civil war. Reagan and US abandoned Beirut and Lebanon in 1985 after the Marine barracks bombing. Iran used Hezbollah as a proxy in Lebanon. Syria and Lebanon have been at odds until the recent Syrian revolution. Despite declaring Hezbollah illegal, the weak government has not been able to regain control of Beirut until recently. The President currently is a Maronite Christian - the President of Lebanon must be a Christian. PM Nawaf Salam is Sunni. The people and government officials are well-educated, but their ability to enforce peace without US or UN support is limited.

The Lebanese government would be happy to be rid of Hezbollah, Syrians, and Israelis who have occupied their land and caused great destruction for decades.

Ive mentioned it before, but 2 friends of mine who are Maronite Christians and left Zgharta over 30 years ago. They lament what has happened to their country and have lots of disgust for invaders. They detest the Iranians. They despise the Israelis. They don't think highly of the Druze. They are suspicious of Syria. But they have the most hate for the Palestinians. They blame most of their ills on them.

I’m not questioning or challenging what you wrote.

I’m wondering why your friends have the most hate for and place the most blame on what is likely the weakest group in Lebanon, the Palestinians.

The NYT and CNN work hard at fact checking? They do when its trying to find something to rebut trump on but not so much when their preferred political party needs fact checking. Given the black eye your media has suffered recently on multiple occasions, I'm surprised you could type that with a straight face. And if you did and actually believe that then its probably time to for you to be sheered.
