Iran would not likely be detonating at that altitude, so the actual force of the bomb would be considerably less. I don't think they are going to all this trouble to develop a half Little Boy bomb.

Yes, but then you have to make the second stage. Actually, I don't know how powerful the fission reaction has to be to set off the fusion reaction -- I'm pretty sure, though not 100%, that Teller's H-Bomb used a plutonium fuel, not uranium. Not sure if that's required.

The problem is that the second stage is even harder. Li has to be enriched to like 50% Li-6 and that's difficult to do, for reasons I don't entirely understand because I've never cared to look them up. Stankey might know.

There have been a number of fangroups that I have been a part of that stopped being enjoyable to me because voices that had similar viewpoints to mine were constantly silenced. But complaining about it wouldn't have done me any good. When it got to the point that that bothered me enough that it wasn't fun being there anymore, I left and found groups that naturally respected all opinions more, were differently moderated, or, worse case scenario, were made up of people whose viewpoints are more similar to my own.

The last solution isn't ideal, but I find myself being a better person in those groups than I was when I countered the toxicity of others with my own because I'm not fighting everyone to get my voice heard.

Again, do what you feel is best, and I do appreciate the different viewpoints conservative posters bring, but do what makes you happiest. And if being here doesn't bring you peace, there are other places that will.

I don't really know (we never studied weapon construction in school), but I think it's because of a small mass difference and being solid.

While I agree, GT and Callatoroy have often argued that he is a good leader.

And I hear magas everyday saying that he's the businessman they always wanted and the government needs.

They view him as great because they haven't broken free of the cult mind trap yet.

But it might be coming. I've noticed several stores and homes that were once loaded with trump flags and other paraphernalia have removed all the crap. But the biggest one still has rebel flags.

Wow, I spent 20 years as an Officer in the Navy, and I never heard of this 5th Fleet thing.

As someone else pointed out, the Iranians have a lot of cards to play here, including mining. The real question becomes where are the mine warfare ships and helicopters. And what happens when they stop shooting those ballistic missiles at Israel but instead at Saudi Arabia.
 
Don't worry, folks. This is all part of the master plan by the supreme leader Trump. We all know he could end all the wars with one phone call. He said it so it must be true. He must have a good reason why he hasn't done it yet. We are just too simple to understand the brilliance of Trump.

This never should have happened. It's all Trump's folly, from his first administration.

I will say, however, I blame Biden partially. He had a chance to end Bibi's game. And he didn't.

The US has basically become an Israeli proxy. That should never be the case.

Assuming this ends well, or even if it doesn't, we need to seriously reevaluate the influence of the Israel lobby in our nation. It has far too much power.

We could have withdrawn aid to Israel. Biden was sort of attempting to protect the election. Bibi's gambit has been to stay in office. That means War.

I blame Biden more for not providing Ukraine sufficient air power to blast through the growing minefields behind the Russians lines during the 2023 counteroffensive.
