Project Freedom is as much of a failure as everything else they've attempted, so instead of admitting it, they've made up an unbelievable story about being asked to end it. After basically 1.5 days. What an absolute fucking clownshow.
Their actions since they started this stupid fucking war would be funny if they hadn’t caused so much pain and destruction. But the Keystone Kops have been resurrected.

According to Axios, citing officials and others with knowledge on the matter, the U.S. and Iran are close to reaching an agreement centered on a one-page memorandum of understanding. Per the report, the U.S. is waiting on Iranian responses to several points of contention, including a moratorium on enrichment and the freedom of passage through the Strait of Hormuz, in the next 48 hours. If Iran were to agree to a moratorium on enrichment, the U.S. is reportedly willing to release some Iranian frozen funds. However, per U.S. officials, U.S. President Donald J. Trump will likely only make a decision to end the U.S. blockade of the Strait of Hormuz if talks realize tangible progress.

So, we launched a war to ensure Iran can never develop a nuclear weapon, and we’re now “ending” it with the future of Iran’s nuclear program unresolved. The next step will be to negotiate with Iran about its nuclear program, even though we’ve been warned that nothing Iran says or commits to can be trusted.

This was so worth it.

U.S.-Iran Potential MOU Continued:In addition to the previously reported points on the potential U.S.-Iran Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), the MOU would reportedly include 14 points, including declaring an end to the conflict in the Middle East, the announcement of a 30-day period to negotiate the Strait of Hormuz and Iranian enrichment, and the gradual lifting of both nations’ restrictions on the strait as talks progress. Sources told Axios that the U.S. is looking to add a provision where an Iranian disregard or violation of agreements on enrichment, which includes a cap at 3.67%, would extend the moratorium. Additionally, on enrichment, sources also told Axios that Iran may be willing to move previously enriched material from the country, with a proposal for the U.S. to take possession of it being discussed.

Man, we must have evidence that Iran will suddenly become trustworthy enough within the next 30 days to be able to enter an agreement that actually means something. Maybe they’re close to finding Jesus?

“News reported by a media outlet close to Israel (Axios) and subsequently by a Western media outlet regarding the details of a potential Iran-US agreement appears to be distant from reality, at least in the nuclear domain; the plan is that if negotiations in the areas of a "sustainable ceasefire" (end of the war) and "reopening the Strait of Hormuz siege from both sides" reach a conclusion, we will then enter into nuclear discussions; however, the Israeli source claims that "Iran has agreed from the outset to a 12-to-15-year suspension," "will deliver 400 kilograms of 60% uranium," and "has also promised to shut down underground nuclear facilities" in order for "America to lift the sanctions!"

“Iran "wants and will only accept an explicit affirmation of its enrichment rights," "is unlikely to easily agree to handing over 400 kilograms of 60% uranium," and "will not shut down its underground facilities" because they would become vulnerable to Israeli bombing; America, too, is unlikely to lift the sanctions!”

Iran isn't going to easily give up the stranglehold they've now got over the Strait of Hormuz, as they can make a fortune by charging fees to use the strait. And it seems clear that we're so desperate to end this mess that we're now willing allow Iran to continue some kind of nuclear program and just look the other way about it in the future. In the end what is most likely is that at some point we're just going to declare victory and go home, and tell the rest of the world that they'll have to solve the mess we've caused with the strait and Iranian control of it and brag that we've wrecked their nuclear program and so we achieved our objectives blah blah blah. So overall a defeat for the USA and Trump administration in terms of our original objectives. And yet MAGA will still defend it all, as we've seen on this very board.
