President Trump told aides he’s willing to end the U.S. military campaign against Iran even if the Strait of Hormuz remains largely closed, administration officials said, likely extending Tehran’s firm grip on the waterway and leaving a complex operation to reopen it for a later date.

Can someone explain why the markets are not freaking out over this?

Just speculating and guessing, I wonder if the markets think this is a good idea? Iran would simply open up an Ayatollah toll booth for any ship to get in or out.

Wait! Is this the same guy who a week ago was saying, "We negotiate with bombs?"
That's before they started running out of bombs faster than Iran was missiles.

Didn't you used to call for timeout when you needed to refill your water gun? Same thing but lacking the same maturity.

Trump is backing down. I think it’s assumed that once Iran isn’t being attacked, traffic will flow through the Strait of Hormuz.

If Trump hadn't dodged the Vietnam War, is it possible he would have learned a little more about how to avoid a strategic loss to a vastly outgunned enemy?

He'd have ended up in an office somewhere and not learned a damned thing. The only reason he learned to read and write was to brag and read his press.
