Isiah Thomas HATES Michael Jordan

I love LeBron. Love his game. He plays like that in Karl Malone’s physique. He gives MJ a run for GOAT but moving around a lot undermined that (building teams repeatedly and maybe because he played with some other HOF guys in Miami).

It is a reasonable debate. LeBron has the Kareem longevity angle. I get it even if I don’t see him as topping MJ. But KD and Seth???

I’ll always hate Thomas for ‘81 AND the Pistons (Jordan Rules), so yeah, I was going to react negatively. But KD and Seth???? In love ‘em both but come ON.
I definitely agree that Seth Curry does not belong in the conversation at all.

Isaiah still butt hurt. Jordan got him back with the ultimate revenge from the all star game freeze out Thomas organized.
Jordan, Magic and the gang went to Barcelona and had a blast on the World stage. The ultimate Dream Team and Thomas ain’t on it… and he never will be. He’s still butt hurt and everybody knows it.

The thing about MJ in my mind is just how much better he was than everybody else for pretty much his entire career. Bron and Steph had periods where they were the best, but there were always other player nipping at their heels. The NBA let other teams just absolutely mug MJ because nobody could beat him fair and square, and he beat them anyway.

I bet Chuck Daly had some interesting stories on all of that.
The NBA appointed Chuck Daly as Head Coach of the Dream Team. If he had wanted Zeke on the team, it would have been easy to leave John Stockton home.

Except John Stockton was the best PG in the world. He shot 40+% from “3” and 50+% from “2.” He averaged 13+ apg. 3.0 steals per game. Zeke was 29%, 45%, 7+ apg, 1.5 spg.

And, the NBA Elite didn’t like Zeke. And, the Olympics, in 1992, is at least a month pre-Olympics and two weeks in Barcelona. No one wanted Zeke on the bus or in the locker room.

Yes.

It is.

It gets debated everyday without a unanimity.

In your mind it's not debatable, to millions of others it is.
It gets talked about often because we have 24/7 sports talk shows, many with huge audiences. Those talk shows have damn little to talk about. So, when a Scottie Pippin* or Zeke Thomas says, “LeBron is better than MJ,” the talking head show has fodder for 10-20 minutes.

It doesn’t get “debated” often and rarely does anyone say, “You know. You’re right. LeBron is better than MJ.”

Probably more than you think especially by those who never saw MJ play.

When the topic comes up it's usually a debate between MJ and LeBron. I mean LeBron is the all time leader in points and will be second all time in assists. It's a reasonable discussion.
